I thoroughly enjoyed paddle boarding at Bartlett. The boards we rented were fine. However, the guy who helped us was rude, condescending and overall unpleasant. Maybe he was having a bad day and typically treats customers better but I don't intend to rent from him again or to send friends to rent from him. His dog Red on the other hand deserves 5 stars.

Had a great time! Super friendly. Great service. My kids loved the friendly dog even more than the canoe. Thank you for such a wonderful time. I also love that you can book online so you don't show up and are disappointed.

Rarely, have I written a review like this but I think it's important that the owners know, and people should be aware, that the older gentleman who is renting the boards (we rented a board on Sunday June 13 at 9 AM) is really a rude, inappropriate and dismissive person. My wife and her friend, both of whom are respectful intelligent adults, went to rent the reserved paddle board while I was getting the rental boat. As an aside, I should say that the people from Bartlett Lake Boat Rental were very helpful, informative and kind from start to finish. My wife and her friend both came over to me to tell me that the paddle board rental person was as rude and dismissive to them as any one they had ever encountered. At the end of the day when we returned the board and paddle board, I went to the paddle board guy and asked him if he would prefer me leaving the paddle board on the boat or if I should carry it back to his rental area and he actually snapped at me and said,"I don't have any more renters, I don't care." I calmly said, "Well, that didn't actually answer my question. The rental boat staff told me to ask you so I'm asking you and I don't need the same dismissive attitude you gave to my wife and her friend." Then he snapped, "Just leave it on the boat." I also pointed out to him that the big fin on the paddle board wasn't put in correctly and that I had to remove it and put it in properly and he snapped, No, you must have done it wrong." I walked away. I'm not going to spend time getting into an argument with anyone who won't accept any accountability. My wife and her friend were so put off by the guy that they didn't want to go anywhere near him. We won't be renting from Go Stand up Paddle again until that person has been terminated (unless he owns the business) then we just will never rent there again. Easier to rent elsewhere and avoid the nonsense. P.S. In the owners response, he's either confused or lying, however you'll notice that again he accepts no accountability at all as I mentioned in my review prior to his response. He wrote that when they returned, he kindly explained where to leave the boards in an effort to be helpful. They didn't return to talk to him because they were so put off by his attitude. I approached him and he was short and dismissive with me as well, and responded precisely as I quoted you in my review. Incidentally, how very kind of him to "gift" customers with safety information and answer ONE question about the proper way to hold a paddle. Interestingly, by comparison, the gentleman from Bartlett Lake Marina Boat Rentals that rented me the boat very carefully and politely went over all the safety procedures with me without mentioning that he was "gifting" me with the information and had no problem with me asking a few questions for clarification. I saw my wife and her friend come back frustrated and rattled after dealing with him, which was very unusual, so much so that they asked me to deal with him when we returned, The owner, or whoever he is, can ramble all he wants about his experience and denials while pointing a finger at the customers but he's missed the point and lost a customer and a future recommendation, and I'm guessing from having dealt with him, that he couldn't care less P.S.S. Also, take note that in his initial response he does not dispute me quoting his exact words but rather points out that I was only in his presence for about 50 seconds. Wrong. It was about 15 seconds because I wasn't wasting time with his attitude, as I pointed out.
