Pre-pandemic, we used to like eating at Rubio's for Taco Tuesday. Our experience this past Tuesday was disappointing. When dining in at a Rubio's, we used to get our food served on real plates and bowls with real silverware. That seems to have changed because our food got delivered to us in cardboard bowls with plastic forks. The sides of the bowl were a mess to the point they look like they had been reused. Had it come in a regular bowl, the cooks would have wiped them off. The sauce on the Argentinian Shrimp bowl was WAY too much and the portion seemed WAY too small. There was barely any lettuce at the bottom under the rice. We didn't get chips and salsa which used to come automatically. Overall, not a good experience and I'm going to think twice about coming back.

We started the counter for a long. Time waiting for the expediter and the cashier to pack up a number of to go orders before they were ready to wait on us. We came into the shop when only one person was ordering, but by the time they took our a line formed. Clearly dine in restaurant guests are not as important as the pickup customers. The food was just what you expect from Rubio's, tasty, is it inexpensive.
