image I was having a housing issue in 2018, due to a lack of finances, after losing a good job, funds ran out, due to some bad investments that landed myself, and son Homeless. At that time I was rendered almost hopeless other than the fact of prayer, strong faith, Before the situation, I applied to Homeward bound, as a single father. Stayed shortly with friends, sent my son to my hometown with family, then mentally prepared for things to come, sleeping on the streets with the rest of gods strugglers. Some on the path back, some lost, hopeless and not thinking about shelter. Just out there. Through prayer, humbleness, wise teaching, and successes, I realized to never lose your confidence, who you are, and where you come from. Your situation does not reflect who you are, and have been, neither does it change your character. Now people will talk about you, but forgive them, humans are fallible. And whomever you are, Rich or poor, your going to have storms in your life. Also Gods sun Shines on the good, and the bad. His rain falls on the just, and unjust....never judge yourself, nor lose your confidence, nor anyone. Now to Homeward Bound. 5 Stars all day. Yes the rules are to help you get on your feet. Yes you can be turned away, if you have an address with a friend in a one bedroom.
There are people with less than that, an address of the street, bus stop , Park with a kid, or kids. Via my waiting period on the streets. I qualified, after being vetted. Furnished apartment, no Visitors after 10 until 6 am. You can go, an come as you please, at the time Security kept you safe., Quick vet of visitors, my friends passed, some I was concerned, but they passed Literally flipped Burgers for 35 hours to 40, did all the classes. Received gifts during Christmas. The pantry every Tuesday had a fridge freezer, stocked best they could by the lovely charities from local restaurants, and Grocery Stores. As well as Clothing you could fine, books, Appliances from the Pantry...Amazing to me. My only issue was with gods beautiful children....LOL, MINE INCUDED...You have to stay on your kid, because after all we do for them, they caused some to be removed from the program, or early.Limit contact because unsupervised kids are going to get in trouble..As a kid I did. It's what kids do...No where they are, meet the parents in the community for watching over your kids, and there's.no exceptions but best behavior. Parents are in struggle, and trying to come up. I used to scratch my head, Parents trying to get on there feet. Our kids become a problem.....It can be survived, but maybe the worst problem there, and not caused by homeward bound. Keep your kids in Check.
The Case workers do a masterful job, with high expectations period, and trying to do there job, and meet YOUR GOALS, helping you get back on your feet. That's where I am.....Thank you Homeward Bound for another shot at life. Case workers, upper Management, charities, family's in Struggle. You were a beacon of light, a light house during a Storm. As you see, I cannot say enough. God bless you, and to whomever is reading this with the struggle of a place to stay, Male, or Female....it is a sure shot if you get access, after being vetted.. 4 to 12 weeks, you in good hands.
Again thank you.
2018-2019
Esmeralda, Were fine, Karen career center, thank you.
Sincerely, Ron

image I was called back for the application process ... Keep in mind this program DOES NOT ACCEPT SERVICE ANIMALS GOING AGAINST FEDERAL LAW. I am a disabled female 57 years old raising 3 adopted minor grandkids and cant have a certified service animal! This is mandated and federal law that i can not be denied housing based on my service animal!
Also if you are disabled 100% yet you have verifiable income you still have to work! Amazes me! I guess they don't have to follow any federal laws! I was talked to like I was scum out for a handout!

image There's so many people on here reporting what a bad experience they have had. I was thinking about referring a friend here, but will not. If this place is primarily for women & children - it doesn't have to be done in a mean way. Everyone deserves respect, Wow. Such a disappoinment.

image I think Homeward Bound is an amazing place I recommend it to people that I see struggling that are homeless with children. I was once in those shoes and Homeward Bound helped me buy a home and now I am almost done with collage. Home bond gave me the courage that i needed to do things on my own and be a single mother and not struggle. I love the staff there and everything about this place.
