I have the highest praise for Phoenix Solar Specialists' product, installation and customer service. The owners themselves, Rex and Francis Bailey, have a very hands-on approach to dealing with customers, from inside office paperwork to installation, start to finish. They each personally and quickly have answered all my calls, honestly answered my questions, immediately resolved my one problem (slight leak in garage roof from monsoon damage during installation) and have given me 150% satisfaction in service. It's good to find such an honest, owner-operated business working so hard for the customer.

OUT OF BUSINESS!!! I got solar installed on my house and I had an electrical problem that should have been covered under warranty but the company no longer exists. I was told its the installers fault for what happened. I had a load controller that wasn't wired right by them that Arc and burned some of the wires. Called an electrician and they looked at it said whoever installed cut corners to save money. There is no breaker for my solar cause they didn't want to change my main panel to save money. Now I'm stuck with poor installation cause this place no longer in business and I have no warranty. Priv energy also was the name for them and they are out of business. I had to call the financial office to get any information on what to do and I'm getting the run around to call people just for them to say it's the installers fault, so we have to pay for their mess up.

The sales rep promised a $240 check for listening to the sales pitch. Instead, he rolled it into the financing as a credit, which is okay, though not what was promised. Poor installation left holes in my exterior walls. After multiple callbacks and weeks of waiting, they finally patched the damage. Further, the sales rep promised they would cover the costs of the financed system until such time as it was hooked to the grid and fully functional -- so that I wouldn't need to make 2 types of utility payments. I supplied them with a detailed cost breakdown of that interim period. 4 months later after many calls and emails, they have not reimbursed me anything. Finally, the system was supposedly sized to completely replace my energy needs, but hasn't covered the full net amount of reasonable winter usage since the first partial month of service. The first month of summer usage left me with an $140+ payment to the local utility on top of their financing charges. The sales rep had promised that they would cover any overages, but I'm not holding my breath. The highlights of my experience with them are: 1. Deceptive sales practices, 2. Poor customer service, 3. Poor system engineering, and 4. Broken promises. I would recommend looking for solar services elsewhere.

If only I could give negative stars. Do NOT hire these people!!!! Do your research and make sure to not hire them under whatever new company name they call themselves in the future as well. They were quick to ask for the last payment as soon as the solar panels were placed (which the loan company said was standard), but 3 months later we are still waiting for them to schedule final walk through with city inspector to get approval to hook up to so we can actually get power. They gave us one date where only their guy showed up who gave some lame excuse that the city inspector didn’t show up due to scheduling mix-up...that was 2 months ago. No further response from the owner Fred who was a little miffed that my husband called him. He said he’d get back to us...still waiting Fred! So we essentially have solar panels on our roof doing absolutely nothing!!!! Thanks Fred! I guess it’s time to call the board of contractors or whatever licensing body they work under as well as BBB.
