Dry Star Restoration

A leak in the wall behind our bathroom vanity caused damage and mold. Our plumber recommended we pull the cabinet to assess the leak and dry out the area. The plumber contacted Dry Star, and they were there within the hour, which was a positive. However, the situation quickly turned sour. To our dismay, Dry Star disassembled everything, going so far as to remove the glides on the drawers within the vanity and all the hinges from the doors and vanity. They even took down a large mirror that was a solid 4 feet above the wet drywall, causing unnecessary disruption and inconvenience. They dried the area out, collected the equipment, and had me sign invoices and contracts on a tiny screen. Never was I told that the cost was just for removal and drying out. It apparently was in the fine print on one of the contracts I signed on their phone screen. I was also told to call the office and set up the restoration. I did. I was told they had to come out and give me a quote for repairs, really? Your company did the demo; your company took a bunch of pictures; why would you need to come and put together a quote? So it took 3 days to get someone out there to assess the restoration. It took another week to get a quote. It was going to be another 2 to 3 weeks to get the repairs started. While Dry Star was busy putting together a quote, I talked to neighbors and friends, and I found Highland Builders to show up the next day to restore my bathroom. They completed it in a day for $2K, they didn't need to visit and waste time on a quote. A full week later I got the quote from Dry Star. They wanted $4,300 to fix my bathroom. I would say that is a big upcharge.

Aaron and Cody were awesome. They are very professional and friendly, and efficient at doing what their jobs required. They also explained what they were doing and asked me about my schedule so they could schedule a follow-up time to check the equipment left here. I highly recommend them.

From the first point of contact following a slab leak in my Scottsdale home, to the meticulous restoration of damaged hardwood floors, walls & doors, I found the staff & service outstanding. Each step of the extensive repair process was performed with efficiency, precision & skill. Every member of this can-do team was exceptional, including Noah, Braden, Martin, Francisco, Randy, Jordan & Neil. Chad handled the detailed claims process with equal precision & care. I am sincerely grateful to these talented, conscientious workers for a complex job exceedingly well done!

I am giving this place five stars. It was a difficult beginning and I wouldn't wish this water restoration necessity on anyone, but when you have to have someone take care of everything, this is a very thorough company. I especially want to mention Tracy Reutsch from the dry out phase. Wow, this man is so helpful and kind. He knew everything about the fans and the dry out and came every day to check the progress. I also want to mention George and Randy who came to do the repairs. They were very patient with my questions. They were able to match my 20-year-old paint in the garage perfectly and did a really great job. Thank you to everyone from DryStar for making a very overwhelming experience a little easier to deal with.
