My mother, sister and myself went for lunch on Friday January 18, 2013. The restaurant was more than half empty. We were seating very quickly and our drink order was taken promptly. My mother presented coupons to the waitress, who had NO clue what they were. We ordered our food and snacked on chips. My sister's plate and my plate came out fairly quickly. My mother's food did not. The waitress asked us how our food was, my mother asked her about her food to which the waitress said "You didn't order anything", my mother replied with "Oh yes I did! The Tico Rico", the waitress said "Oh" and went back to the kitchen. A few minutes later she reappeared with my mother's plate, which was only somewhat warm and no apology was issued. The food had been prepared and left there to sit. My meal was supposed to have beans AND rice, only got the beans. My sister asked for a to-go cup for the rest of her soda, as she had to get back to work and the waitress came back with a to go cup for her and a full to-go cup for me (which I didn't ask for). My mother did not leave a tip. My family and I have been giving this Top Shelf business for more than 30 years and the service has just gone down. The food is still good, but it leaves much to be desired for the service. And no, we did not get the name of our waitress, she didn't offer it and it wasn't on the tab. Manuel's down the street will be getting our business from now on.

The food was good, unfortunately the service is terrible! I've been to this place a number of times and ordered food to go, each time the service was crap! I ordered food for a potluck once and when I arrived, the manager hadn't even put my order in because he "thought I wouldn't show." And before he admitted that, the manager acted like he never took my order!

Forget all the chain mexican restaurants, this place has the BEST food in town! Went there when I received a 2 for 1 coupon in mail - had never heard of it prior. Will return again & again as long as the food stays as great as the first time.
