Saw Dr Hatfield on Jan 27, 2022. Requested a referral to a spine specialist as suffer from severe bulging and herniated discs causing severe pain and hampering walking. He said would submit, but may be a week or so before I heard anything. After more than two weeks I attempted to contact his office but getting constant busy signals. When three weeks went by I was finally able to get into the line to set up new patients, they informed me the wait time to get into the office was over three minutes and transferred me. After being on hold for several minutes, I was given and accepted the option of having someone return my call. A young man returned my call and said he would have to get with the referral dept and have someone call me back. You guessed it, no return call..went thru same routine in trying to get thruthis time someone actually answered. They apologized and read on my account that I had called regarding the referral, then stated that referrals were running a bit behind because they only had two clerks trying to handle referrals from nine different offices. They noted my account about my severe pain issues and prioritized my request. Again no response or action so called again, getting same infoshort staff in referral office. Now almost eight weeks and no referral. Is this how his patients should be treatedI think not. Last week I contacted my insurance company and changed PCPs and told them why. They said it would be so noted on my records.
