For a company to manage payroll I have done without a paycheck for a month because they did paperwork wrong. Meanwhile my client whom I've worked for since 2017 has to go without my help. He's 7, and they absolutely have ignored me when I've tried to communicate last week. Until today. How are you supposed to feed your family. When they don't take responsibility for their paperwork mess.

I have never been shy about my feelings towards Acumen Fiscal Agent, it's policies, or it's employees. Acumen has one purpose. To serve a community that is already abused, forgotten, scared, and lacking people who genuinely care. Acumen has a way of proving all of those things wrapped into one usually on a day to day basis to the consumer, thier families as well as the employees hired to care for the consumer directly. Acumen's employees while thier website boasts that they are versed in many ways to help developmentally and intellectually disabled persons and those who care for them with all types of different services, my question has always been, how many of the employees actually work with the consumer? How many of Acumen's employees have actually been involved in a consumers daily life? Because if they had this experience I'm thinking things like ensuring a consumers bill's and the consumer's employee payroll is processed on time and correctly would be the first and foremost important job they have. If Acumen employees worked with a consumer directly they would be able to see the drastic devestation if not receiving a paycheck on time can do to all those involved. Then they might do something surprising. They might care. They might just be sitting in front of a computer looking a consumers yearly plan that is dedicated to detailing that consumers life for the next year, and instead of skipping all that to get to the budget, they might just take the time to get to know and understand this consumer who is usually no more then a name on a file. I have worked with Acumen now for almost ten years. Do I understand I say with not for. Acumen may be the FMS company chosen to assist my true employer who is a long time Partcipant of the CA Self-Determination both pilot and now state wide program, but they are not my employer. I have witnessed first hand the uncaring nature of it's employees. I have been subject to very serious personal bias by employees, which has resulted more then once said employees retaliating against me the only cowards way they have which is to mess with my paycheck. I have not been been paid correctly or on time more times then I can count, I have filed numerous complaints against them with DDS, the BBB of both CA and AZ, with Labor Board, with wage adjudication board as well as others. And yet, how does any of that help the community they are supposed to be not only serving but protecting? The truth it doesn't. The only true person who is hurt by Acumen's mean and vengeful actions is my consumer. Who is so much more then just a consumer to me and all those who truly get to know her. She is the most beautiful woman inside and out, caring, smart, thoughtful. But would anyone at Acumen be able to tell you that? Or would they more likely be first to bring up me, the problem employee who caused waves within Acumen's bs policies? I'm sure you can figure out the answer. Do not take my word alone.
