A great stop on 66. The best part was lunch.
This place has changed. Looks nothing like the current street view as of 2019-01-14.
It was a gas station and motel a long time ago. That is obviously closed. Grand Canyon Caverns opened a gift shop with a small remnant of the Antares Art Gallery, and a Deli.
The staff was pleasant and friendly, chit chatting with the tourists and answering their questions. She gave a few people directions and general information and seemed to know quite a bit about the area and the other attractions nearby.
The outside is an awesome display of local artists that owned the gallery, and some of their works are on sale inside. Metal work and paintings most of which are very distinctly AZ.
The gift shop, pretty much run of the mill route 66, a little Arizona flavor and a little native influence because of the nearby tribes.
The deli was incredible though. I'm particular, but I tried the burger. Not only was it not a frozen patty, but it was served on really nice bread. Veggies were fresh on both the burger and the side salad that came with it.
Definitely recommend stopping here for a bite to anybody riding the mother road.
