Madrid Tapas y Sangria

Completely top notch. The service couldn't be better and the food is perfection. The owners are passionate, and utterly competent. I can't wait to go back.

I went to Madrid with my partner to celebrate my birthday. She had been to Spain before and had appreciated how authentically Spanish it was. She was very excited to see a very special kind of ham, iberico,on the menu. Julian, our server, was more than suburb, but he kept having bad news to tell us: -there was no iberico. What was the most confusing that apparently the menu was just updated, but they have been out of iberico for months, why add it to the menu. We looked over the menu for a few more minutes and were ready to order but: -there were no brussel sprouts. Then, to make a long story short, a couple other things were out of stock...luckily we ordered the Sangria, which was delightful, because we were getting pretty frustrated; all we wanted was to enjoy some. I have been in these situations before as a server, and it really stinks to be the one to deliver all this bad news to the customer due to bad management in the back-of-house crew. There didn't appear to be a manager and perhaps they should be scheduled more as to get some ordering done. The food was delicious, but it's these little things that really disrupt what would have been an otherwise great dining experience.
