I have been working with this company for almost a year now to try to resolve a problem that a client of mine had on some pool and perimeter fencing. (I use WITH loosely as they had responded to every 20th message and never showed up) They have been unresponsive and have yet to fulfil their obligations under warranty. I have dealt with hundreds of subcontractors in my line of work, and have NEVER had an issue where the Registrar of Contractors had to get involved. This is a first! Even with the ROC involved, they have not responded. Horrible!

I could not be happier with the gate I just had installed by this company...right from the salesperson Tom coming to the house and making recommendations to the installation today...they handled themselves with professionalism that I haven't seen in a long time...even the receptionist was very nice...I would HIGHLY recommend this company!

Wow! Nice job! Security door looks and works nice. Much nicer than any of the other options. This is NOT a Home Depot security door. Good job installing and fabracating door. Will use them again.

Extremely frustrated with our experience with this company. We ordered our gate through Lowe's. Filled out all necessary paperwork, etc. When our gate was done - it was wrong. We ordered a center-mount lockbox and the gate came in with a latch. My husband and the Lowe's guy looked at the paperwork and - sure enough - Great Gates did our order incorrectly. When Lowe's called GG to ask what had happened and to re-order our gate, GG claimed they "lost the paperwork". Seriously?? Ya think maybe CALLING THE CUSTOMER WHO IS PAYING HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS FOR SOMETHING would be a good start? Back to the drawing board. More than a month and a half later, my husband stops into Lowe's to inquire about our gate and the Lowes associate claimed he did not have record that it had been delivered. He went into the back and - guess what - our gate was there with NO PAPERWORK ATTACHED. It had sat there for a week or two!! What's worse was - THE GATE WAS WRONG AGAIN!!! Great Gates put a lockbox on it but it was IN THE WRONG PLACE!!! Despite filling out paperwork TWICE and the Lowe's associate AND my husband going over the entire order IN DETAIL OVER THE PHONE - GREAT GATES GOT THE ORDER WRONG AGAIN!!! It's now been THREE MONTHS since we ordered our SIX HUNDRED DOLLAR GATE and we STILL DO NOT HAVE OUR CORRECT GATE. I do not recommend this company AT ALL. According to the Lowe's associate, we aren't the only unhappy customer. Associates have been telling store senior management that this is not a good representation of Lowe's core values and they do not like this vendor at all.

As a baby boomer, I have never written an on line review. I try to support local businesses and give them the benefit of the doubt. I felt compelled to let others know about the lack of customer service I experienced with Whiting Iron. Numerous companies produce similar products. The factor which makes a business stand out is their customer service. A few years ago Whiting Iron built and installed a wraught iron gate at my home. Over the years, due to normal use, the finish is chipping. On December 13th I called and spoke with Laree, who I believe is the office manager. I told her I was interested in powder coating the gate. I was instructed to send pictures of the gate and someone would provide me with a quote. Per her instructions I sent the photos that day. Two days later I called and was told they never received the pictures, so I sent them again. I never heard back from them. I called the office again on January 5th. I spoke with Crystal and she instructed me to send the pictures again. At this point I feel like a fool. I sent the pictures to Crystal that day. After a week of not hearing back I called and spoke with Crystal again. She told me her hands were tied and all she can do is pass on the message. She rushed me off the phone stating she had to take another call. The lack of customer service demonstrated is appalling. End of story!
