As a former employee, I can attest that this nonprofit does some great work locally for the community.  Projects include a domestic violence shelter, teen boys' home, and sober-living home for men and women.Unfortunately, ethics within the company are frightful.  As a new employee, I was given NO training on working with domestic violence victims despite repeat requests to management.  In fact, I was tasked with case management and running nightly support groups and told to "go online and Google what you should do."Furthermore, after speaking to management about a series of short checks, staff was told to "write your timecard in pencil in case we need to alter your hours."  We were also told on one occasion that we "must volunteer at this special event" or risk losing our jobs.  Fortunately, all staff remained a united front and trumped them on that demand.I was frequently schedule 12-18 hour shifts with no breaks.  After nine months without a single absence, I had to call in once because my elderly grandmother suffered a heart attack.  When I returned, I was promptly given a written warning for "causing unneccesary burden on the company for missing work."This place treats their employees horribly and makes no apoligies for it.  Consider supporting another nonprofit until they clean up their act.
