Talkeetna Lakeside Cabins

My wife and I, along with a couple of family members needed a break and chose to stay here. We were amazed at well and thoughtfully set up the cabin was! There was a very comfortable and welcome feeling from the owner and in the cabin as well. If you need a quick getaway or even a longer one, I highly recommend checking these folks out. We live a little over an hour away from them and will definitely be taking advantage of their closeness for getaways again in the future!

If you want a great cabin in the woods, this is it! We spent 3 days in the Hill Top cabin and loved it. This is a year around cabin, clean and well insulated. The lake view is spectacular.

This was my first time to Alaska and we stayed here for 2 nights in Bird cove. The cabin is cute, quaint, and has an amazing view of the lake. Right outside the front window of the kitchen is a picturesque view of a private lake. Even got as few pictures of a beaver swimming around. There is also a small dock with 2 boats that the owner said we were free to use. I would say the one down side about this cabin in particular is that I wouldnt recommend this to an older couple that has trouble with smaller spaces. We are a younger couple so going up the small steps to the loft bed was easy. The other cabins have more room though. We were just there in the beginning of June and the mosquitoes were getting bad. Bug spray is a must!!! Another thing to note is that you can't drive up to all the cabins. Two of the cabins have a short walk along a path to get to. Dont worry, the cabins are in sight so its not like you will be wandering around looking for them....... If you want to have a camp fire there is a money drop box and bundles of wood ready to go, although you may need to bring lighter fluid. All in all the cabin was exactly what we were looking for. It was quiet and peaceful yet close enough to Talkeenta to not be bothered by tourist traffic.
