Lodge is showing it’s age….but the staff of doing the best with what they have. There is one flushing toilet, and two Alaskan outhouses. Newer bathhouses. Major thing to know, you CAN NOT keep/kill any king salmon in the Lake Creek area. All catch and release. This was never revealed to our party till we were on the water.

Excellent spot on the Yentna river , with rustic buildings and good gear/tackle/boats. Our guide Kevin was really great. Just a super nice guy, who loves fishing and wanted to show us a great day. We caught some King Salmon and Pike. Cheers to Kevin, and the staff at McDougall Fishing Lodge.

This lodge claimed they caught 70-100 kings per day in 2019. It's the 1st line on their main web page. I always do my research before booking a trip to any lodge as I have traveled all over and had a diversity of experiences from pleasantly surprised, to thoroughly disappointed. I discovered through Alaska Dept. of Fish and Game that their river was not even open to king salmon fishing in 2019. I almost placed my "non-refundable" deposit with this lodge for a king and trout trip. The truth being is that their claim was not possible by law. King salmon were not my main draw, but the info on their web page compelled me to fish for kings due to their claimed success rate. Regs stated they should not have been fishing for them in the first place. Glad I did not make the mistake of being misled by this company.
