This is the closest you will come to home. Deb books your activities. She sets a beautiful table for breakfast. She cooks a plethora of homemade food for each and every guest. This place is surrounded by wild flowers.Do not miss the Glacier Park Boat Tour.

Slow right down, if you want to visit a town of about 450 people, you can only get to by boat or plane, head to Gustavus. If you want to stay in a place that makes you feel like you live in Gustavus, stay at the Blue Herron. Here’s why, personally met by Bev at the airport and given a short town tour and a brief overview of how things work around here. As you pull up the drive of the Blue Herron, first you will see the attractive timber cottages, then the bicycle shed, then the garden, then the hang out/ dining area. Every travel brochure, book, restaurant phone number, photo albums, etc. The rooms are bright and very comfortable, once again, every amenity. Including binoculars set on the window sill ( so we could monitor the comings and goings of the Bald Eagle mom and chicks in their nest, a few trees away) Then there are the legendary breakfasts that Bev and Pete talk such pride in offering their guests. No need to go into detail, anything you could want, Spuce Tip Syrup ? Fireweed Jelly ? No problem! If you find yourself out side and a bit underdressed, Bev has a collection of Jackets, beanies, boots and pants that would put many outfitters to shame, but make sure they come back, Bev knows everything and everybody. Thankyou Bev and Pete

We have been visiting Alaska since 2007 and we always save the best for last - Gustavus and Blue Heron B&B. Breakfast is in a warm and homey sunroom, great conversation with the hosts and guests while enjoying a fabulous and hearty breakfast. Whether you choose a upstairs room with a view of the Fairweather range or your own cabin with front porch, you'll find you accommodations wonderful. Deb helps us with finding things to do as she's a long time resident of Gustavus. We enjoy going on a small boat day fishing trip, whale watching on Todd's boat Taz, and an all day small boat trip with Jim Kern in Glacier Bay. We also enjoy walking the trails, biking around, visiting local artists galleries and getting the best ever Panini sandwich at Sunnyside Market. Our first year we only staying 3 nights (we didn't know any better) but I would suggest 6-7 nights. So we wanted to let you know about Gustavus and Blue Heron B&B and share this little piece of heaven with you. Enjoy!
