My dogs go there to get there nails trimmed and it is always fast quick and not very expensive.

As far as grooming goes this is the WORST place I have taken my dogs to. All I asked to be done was wash, dry, and brush my dog, I emphasized that he needed extra brushing as he was blowing his winter coat. 2hrs later when i picked both dogs up, I received back a WET, and very UNBRUSHED dog. Not to mention what i was quoted, was NOT what I was charged, and the owner/manager was very RUDE when asked why that was the case. In comparison to what I paid them over Petco/petsmart, they will be going back, at least I know I will get what I ask for, as well as a dry brushed dog!

I was looking to get my dog groomed and called this place on a Monday and was able to schedule an appointment for Thursday of that week. This is the only reason I will give this place even one star. I let them know I have a large breed (malamute) who is in need of deshedding/the works. I also let them know he had a neck injury in the last year and might need some assistance with getting on the table or some extra care during the grooming. We dropped our dog off at 6:45am before heading in to Anchorage for work and were scheduled to pick him up at 5. At 1:30-2pm we received a call that they had scheduled an 11 year old Saint Bernard with a broken neck on the same day and didn't have time to get to our dog but they would reschedule him on Sunday. I'm not sure why they scheduled two large breeds for the same day as we had informed her our dog is 100lbs and is shedding pretty badly so would require some time. With his recent neck injury it's also quite an ordeal to get him in and out of a car so it was quite disappointing that we had to go through that and know we had to turn around and do it all over again. When I went to pick up my dog, the girls at the front desk acted like they didn't know what I was talking about, took a minute to find my dog, couldn't find his leash so let him run around the front desk area without one, then had to have a conversation about what to charge me for the zero services they provided. We are always willing to give places a second chance and because we are new to Eagle River and would like to find a local groomer, we decided to keep the appointment on Sunday. We had some last minute scheduling conflicts and called first thing on Sunday to let them know we'd need to reschedule the appointment. We never received a call back. I hate to cancel commitments last minute and I know it is annoying but we had already been inconvenienced once and figured they would be as understanding. We still haven't heard back and my dog now has an appointment scheduled at Petco. I hate to resort to a chain groomer but at least they are responsive, accommodating and have their crap together.

It's a Dog's Life is such a wonderful daycar/boarding/grooming facility. My dog goes for daycare almost everyday! They have multiple rooms for a variety of dog temperments. The dogs are running around in an open room ALL DAY LONG! The only time the dogs would be kenneled is if the dog needs some space, if they are eating one of their meals, or when it is time for bed. when ever I drop my dog off, my dog is rushing to the door and so excited to there to play! My dog comes home pooped out! Its nice epspecially in the winter when it is so cold outside and dont do many walks. I also see them interacting with the dogs all the time. IT DOESNT SMELL LIKE DOG EITHER! Smells fresh and clean! The groomer is FANTASTIC! I havent been able to find somone to do my dogs nails EVER, and she takes him back and there was no problem at all! And I have seen some of her work, and the dogs come out looking AMAZING! The staff is GREAT! All have very good experince with animals! They provide excellent customer service, and great care for your dog.
