As tourists We participated in an unexpected beautiful community event! Welcoming a Torah to the Community Center. Music, good food, people were welcoming. The place to be for Jewish life in Anchorage

I’ve been to Lubavitch centers all over the world and have never been greeted as coldly or as judgmentally as I was here by the rebbetzin. I stopped in to make a donation (of what little money I have) and was waiting in the lobby to meet the rabbi afterwards. I am considering moving to Anchorage and having a Jewish community is very important to me, so I was excited. The rebbetzin made me feel so unwelcome and uncomfortable that I left within 30 seconds of interacting with her and without meeting the rabbi. I’m sad to say I won’t be returning and am questioning the move.

authentic judaism, very warm and friendly. the only orthodox synagoge in Alaska offers a taste of judaism as it has been practiced for millenia since the time of Abraham. not to be missed...thank you for the exhilirating Sabbath experience!
