We hired Apex Construction and Remodel to replace a privacy fence, replace our 1984 windows and replace our back door. Jon did the initial quote, which was very reasonable. The workers were very courteous and answered all my questions, no matter how dumb they sounded. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for anyone looking to hire for any job, no matter the size.

A previous contractor had destroyed the luster of my wood floors by not using any kind of barrier with his rubber soled boots. John was nice enough to take time out of the weekend and stop by to suggest the most preferred course of action.
He didn’t charge anything for his guidance and saved me A TON of money. I would highly recommend this company for its honesty and integrity.

Personalized customer service and the utmost professionals who go the extra mile to make your repairs and/or remodel stand out!
This Veteran owned company impresses me from the quality of his workers to his front office personnel, and they are to me without question who I will turn to when I need any major upgrades for my home and/or investment properties from here on out as they are simply impeccable in making sure that your project is in perfect shape when they're finished. We hired Jon’s company to sand and stain our deck in June 2017. Very long story short, we tried every way to get ahold of Jon to talk about the work that was done for a year and a half. The office manager would always say she will have him call, but we never received a call. The deck was done incorrectly and was never finished. It’s now green, rotting and will most likely have to be replaced. Not only was in raining that day but it had been raining for weeks prior. It clearly states on the 124 ounce can of Superdeck Transparent oil based Stain, to NOT apply “…if rain is likely to occur.” Now, here we are at the end of 2018, we finally get a call from Jon and he threatens us with lawsuits/liens/collections etc at Christmas time, after we have spent as much as we can afford on our 3 daughters for Christmas. He repeatedly tells us how busy his company is, which we don’t care because that has nothing to do with us. He says that his company is full of “professionals” but he was not willing to do anything to rectify my situation except gives us $100 off. Gee, thanks a lot, Jon. The following week, after an EXTREMELY rude phone call from Jon and his accountant Linda, who was yelling at me in the background, we paid him, so we never have to speak to him or his staff of “professionals” again. It is obvious that APEX is a poorly managed business at this point. Next summer we will be re-doing the work on our deck ourselves, correctly and professionally. We do not recommend this company to anyone unless you are into horrible customer service and enjoy being on a back burner.
My response to Jon's response of my review;
That "NSF Funds" check (NSF mean Non Sufficient Funds, BTW) was cashed immediately upon receiving it, after I had postdated it and asked you, in email, to hold it or to let me know if you were going to cash it so I could transfer money. Your office manager responded with "...will remember it will be a post-dated check." (Copied and pasted from the email, so that isn't a lie). A promise you had made to us, as a company, that you didn't follow through on. If you're are still convinced it is a "bad check", Jon, look up Alaska Statutes 09.68.115 and 11.46.280 (c)(2).
When you say "It took us over a year to get the client to pay their bill with a check that didn't bounce. We finally got paid in December 2018 on this invoice." you should explain that there was only ever two checks and how we tried time after time for that time period you refer to, to talk to you about the work. Or that your office manager either never passed the message along OR you just didn't respond to our pleas for a phone call. That 18 months was entirely on you, so nice try.
Your work is what we are reviewing, but you're showing your true colors, posting a nasty response to my honest opinion of our unfair treatment and experience with you. I posted this review, and your immediate reply to my review is to tell us that you're going to report us to credit agencies after the account was settled (we will dispute it and have it removed, we have all the documentation). I could share the threatening email I received from you immediately after I posted my review, but I'll refrain from boring everyone with more of same from you. Par for the course, Jon.

The first time I contact Apex construction was in July 2017.I talked to Jon over the phone. He sounded very professional. He explained in detail what the work would require and the process. Jon sounds like he knows his stuff. Then he made it out to our property with in a couple of days for the estimate. So far Apex Construction is doing awesome. I'm impressed and excited to keep working with them. Unfortunately, I don't hear from them for about a week. I give them a call. They say something like oh yes yes we are still working on you estimate. We will send it to you this weekend. It never shows up. I call a couple of times in August. No answer. Then I e-mail. No response. I finally get a hold of someone is September. They let me know that they haven't forgot about my estimate. They ran into issues with permitting. They will be send out my estimate this weekend. It is now November. I have not heard from them. I understand if there is too much work and you are trying to fit it all in. But!! If you can't then just say so. To be honest out of all the contractors I've talked to, Jon sounded the most knowledgeable and professional. I would like someone competent to work on my home. If he would have said I'm book three months out, I would have probably waited for him. It is unfortunate that APEX construction is too flakey to follow up with their clients or at a minimum follow through with what you say you are going to do. July to November is plenty of time for them to have at least given me a courteous call. I would not suggest Apex construction to any of my friends or family.
