image Chris does credit to himself and Wetumpka as a business owner. Bought some kayaks, they had repairs, but the repairs had been well done by Chris. Gave me a good deal for them. Took them out on Lake Martin and they performed quite well.
Chris still sells used kayaks and high quality used canoes as well as offers to repair sold kayaks at $35/hour (currently).
His employees are also competent and professional.

image My best friend showed me this gem of a spot for kayaking years back, but its always something I look forward to when I can attend for the years that shell include this part her birthday festivities! The staff is nice & the bus ride down is great. So theyll take you to the drop off point where youll eventually kayak (or paddleboard if you choose this option) back to the rental office/parking lot. Going with someone who knows the rapids is my suggestion for first timers, but it really isnt that bad if you know how to get through them on your own! Bring food & make sure to go on a clear day because being caught out there mid-storm really isnt the most fun but luckily there are little island like spots you can dock on to find cover. You can dock & swim wherever so thats one of the BEST things about it as well! Also, I brought a big carton of goldfish that lasted the whole way & I bring this up because I highly recommend bringing food/snacks & packing it in bags or waterproof containers so it wont get wet. Regardless, kayaking down the Coosa is one of my favorite memories/activities & one of the most fun things to do in AL, especially in the summer!

image My first time going down the Coosa River! With this being my first time kayaking down the Coosa I wish I had someone who was very familiar with the river go with us so we would have gone down the easy way (if there is one) and maybe I wouldn't have fallen out of the kayak three times! We were told where to go but being the first time on the river and not knowing what island and rapids/whitewater names are made the float down confusing! Maybe next time I'll get a map and ask where I should go!
Overall we all had a great time and I have a half dozen "Coosa River Tattoos" from the rocks and my knee fighting in the rapids when I fell out...lol! I'm going to try it again one day but not in my foreseeable future! Thanks Chris for helping me make great memories with my kids!
