I'll start by saying I read reviews before I buy anything. I'll even research the quality of socks I buy off Amazon before choosing. You can imagine how much effort I put into spending a good chunk of money on a new deck and fence. I found ten companies with the best reviews. I requested quotes from all 10. I received quotes from 6 of them. I went with Jeff Snider and Deck Works because (a) their quote was the lowest (which isn't always the company to go with), but also (b) he seemed very knowledgeable and professional. I showed Jeff what we were looking for as far as fence, deck, and gate design. He did two things that I think are very important in a job this big: (1) He let me know of "different" ways to do things that maybe I hadn't considered. Most of what he said provided me with an option that my wife and I actually preferred over our original plan. If you could see my original plans vs. what we ended up with - 100% of people would agree that Jeff helped guide me through my entire design/layout idea and land on something similar but 10x better. I would advise anybody looking to do a big project to try and come up with some idea of what you want and then take it to Jeff to see what he has to say. I assure you he will help you land on something perfect. (2) Some people may see this as a flaw, but I say it is his second great quality: Jeff asked about 50 questions over 3 days of work. "Do you want this to go this way or that way?" "Do you want this to wrap around this side or go under?" I love that he had so many questions because that really helped guide the project in a direction that assured my wife and my complete satisfaction in the end. It would have annoyed me if he just "guessed" at each choice or went strictly with what he thought was best. He did all the hard work, but my wife and I were able to really be the foremen of the project since he allowed us to participate the whole way through in the form of questions and directions. In conclusion: I've had the new deck and fence for about 2 months now. I've had notes on my door, mailbox, phone calls/texts from friends/neighbors, and people just stopping by to ask "can you share the contact information for who did your deck and fence?" It's very flattering to know you've got the best deck and fence around. Thank you to Jeff and his helper! 100 A+
