Was part of a 6 person / 6 hour bottom fishing/ snapper trip. To begin with, the captain did not even speak two words to my son and I upon boarding the vessel. Very poor first impression of the operation. We proceeded offshore to some fairly close in wrecks to bottom fish. Once set up over the structures, there was very little instruction from the captain when to drop your baits before he would re-adjust his position. This practice repeated itself over the entire trip which resulted in only catching two barely legal snapper on a 6 hour trip. The equipment needs upgrading as well. Could not have imagined a trip at this cost to be so poorly managed. Would not recommend

It was a mix bag based on my previous deep sea fishing trips. Captain Seth came highly recommended by a local charter group I respected so maybe my expectations were too high compared to the experiences we had previously with captain Randy and his group. Don’t get me wrong Seth got us on top of the snapper and we did catch our limit but after our 7 exited the boat we discussed this fishing trip didn’t live up to our previous private charters or the top notch experiences we have had. The boat is much older which really didn’t bother me at all since Seth had already shared it was old. We wanted a top notch experience for my family and that means top customer service. I don’t mind the fewer or less amenities but if I pay $1600 personally to take my family out on 6 hr trip I expect the trip to be top notch customer service & well organized. Call me old fashion but I want the trip to be ready the moment we are to leave on time as discussed and several experiences during our trip fell far short of those expectations. Our day started with captain literally walking up the dock at 6:30 with bait on shoulder as his deckhand paces and kept texting so we all assume he was looking for captain. Yes he’s the captain and he will go when he’s ready but I always shared with my leadership team the customer is income and we’re expense so take care of them and you’ll win every time. Felt like too many things were being figured out as we went on our time which goes fast so figure out live bait options shouldn’t be on my nickel. Also, and this is no exaggeration, we calculated that around 15-20 times a large snapper was on and literally stripped the hook and weight clean. Was not a shark or dolphin it literally pulled it off. Maybe I’ve forgotten how to fish but know when we lose 7-8 very large fish due to hook and sinker disappearing it’s not just us. I seem to be a minority here based on reviews and in all fairness I actually like Seth but I’ll book future charters with someone I think is more organized and who I think truly values me as a customer. He seems to being doing great so draw your on conclusions but I would at least ask around more. I did let the group know who recommended it may just be me but I’ll go with different charter next time. I normally book 2-3 times a year and go different places. This is the first that wasn’t as sharp as they could be. My .02 cents which will probably ignore but I always appreciated a customer letting me know truthfully if things fell short but I was incentive to maintain 90-95% repeat customers.
