Chaperoned a school field trip here. Cabins are clean and nice (for a cabin). Mine had screened and glassed windows, regular door and screen door, it's own bathroom and water heater, several power outlets, heat and A/C, and a porch with a picnic table. Kids may not be impressed, but it was the nicest nature setting camp I've ever seen. No snacks allowed in the cabins, but they feed you a lot. Day was pretty scheduled. Breakfast, morning session, lunch, afternoon session, snack/ rec time, dinner, evening session, night snack, bed. Rec time is the only unscheduled part of the day longer than 15 minutes or so. Great for chaperone R&R. Chaperone cabin has wifi. Counselors said cell service only works at the top of the hill. I had cell service on T-mobile almost everywhere in camp. Food is really good. Lunch and dinner always had salad, and breakfast always had a bowl of fruit. If you have a special diet, you will probably be disappointed. Most of the special diet kids opted to just eat the regular menu and skip what they couldn't have. Menu is posted on the dining hall door. Chaperone cabin has a coffee maker, and it's a lifesaver. Fun things that I didn't bring, but will next time: glow bracelets, hammock, selfie stick.

I accompanied my nine year old daughter on a school field trip to Camp McDowell during October of 2022. The weather was absolutely gorgeous, and so was the camp. As a school/group activity, the counselors kept everyone engaged and very extremely patient with so many rambunctious kids. Every day was filled with new activities. The kids were taught facts about animals and learned to use a compass. They were also able to catch frogs, tadpoles, and different insects and learn about them. We spent two nights and three days. We were fed breakfast, lunch, and dinner along with snacks. The food was actually really good. Fruit & vegetables were served at every meal, and the kids really seemed to enjoy the food. My daughter and her classmates all seemed to have a great time, and I would love to bring my family back.

As a 6th grader who went here on a school field trip, I can honestly say I didn't really enjoy it. I really liked the breaks to play games and sports, and the courses. But the reason why I didn't like it that much is because I am Muslim, so I can't eat meat (excluding fish) that isn't prepared a certain way. And for 2-3 days, all i had for breakfast, lunch, and dinner was a singular veggie patty. No bun, no sauce, just a patty. Also I had this for every meal because all of the standard meals had meat in them. This is also the reason why I cant eat another veggies patty for the rest of my life.

I'll say this camp was good for the most part food and learning classes where good. There 1 problem I have been there 4 times when I was around at the school and my friends did go too. was those cabins man. Where do I even start first there were ants in the shower are restroom toilets were even facing the WRONG WAY. Like yeah its outside but come on man. the cabins look the same way from when I was in 4th grade and I'm a freshman now. Even there was a kid that tried to steal from are cabin. I'm going back next week I hope it will be better.
