Baptist Medical Center East ER

Id give zero stars if that was an option. I sat in the waiting room for over 4 hours (9:28pm-1:42am). I thought I could see the light at the end of the tunnel once they called me back to a room but it turns out they just sit you in a room, give you zero instructions or expectations and keep you wondering. I will never come here again. Urgent care is faster.

Last night I got a burn from spilling hot soup on my left upper leg. I was trying to cool down the burning pain by putting cold water on for over 15 minutes and still had the burning pain, so finally I have decided to go to the emergency room in Taylor Rd. I got there aroung 8;45PM. I had to wait more than 2 hrs and got admitted inside. They did not even have a room, just a bed in the side of a hallway. 2 nurses came by and asked what was wrong. I told them I still have burning pain, then they said oh! just wait the doctor will be here soon. I waited another hr in the hallway, I have asked the nurse when can I see the doctor? The answer was, we can not promise you when. This was already passing 3 hrs. I was absolutely too tired and still in pain but couldn't wait to get home. I put some Vaseline over the burn and thank God, my burning pain is gone and just a little pain which I can bear. I would not go to Baptist Medical Center if you need an emergency care, rather try Jackson Hospital. I hope it's better there.

I visited the ER with a (presumed) broken ankle around 9:00. They brought out a wheelchair for me so I didnt have to hop. I was admitted quickly, the staff were kind and friendly and laughed at my jokes. (Though Ill admit they may have been annoyed by me. Lol) Got X-rayd, and then brought to a bed fairly quickly. There wasnt much of a crowd that night, so I suppose that has something to do with my experience. I didnt get a room, but a bed in the hall. I dont know why, but hey, it was speedy and amicable so Ill take it. I guess Im more optimistic than most. The place was clean to me, and none of the staff were unkind. So. 5 stars to me. Time line? 9:00-12:00 3 hours was kinda a long time, but it sped by. Just kept busy by talking to people I was with or trying to make conversation with passers-by. Do what I could to keep my mind off the pain. \_()_/
