A hit and a miss for me.... As part of our large bus tour of the deep south, 50 of us stayed for two nights at this hotel. I am a Marriot member and prefer to stay at this chain, so was pleased when I saw it was included as part of our trip. This location was not one of my favourites unfortunately, although I loved the room we ended up with. Our original room was beside the elevator and had an adjoining locked door, between the noisy guest in the adjoining room and the constant noise from the elevator and a zero view, we asked to move before unpacking. Thankfully we were moved to a corner room, which was beautiful, view of the water, a great layout and much quieter. We used one of the conference rooms for dinner as we had a speaker, and also had breakfast all buffet style. They ran out of coffee each meal and told some in our large party that if the food ran out, that's all there was. Our tour guide was in communication with the hotel staff several times for various reasons. Our party left the conference area to begin to board our bus and I returned to that area to use the washroom, at that time, I witnessed an employee associated with our breakfast/conference area complaining about our group to her manager. I would recommend your team debrief in the privacy of your offices, as to not have such conversations heard by guests, very unprofessional. The pool and hot tub area was great and I made use of both. They also have a pickelball court on the pool level. We walked around one evening and others in our group visited some close by restaurants. Interesting area, a bit noisy from the close by trains, but what can you do? I enjoyed the view from the room and the restaurant onsite. We had the pleasure of listening to a good saxophone player one night. Not sure if my travels will bring me back to this city, and not convinced that I would select this location if returning. Thank you to the helpful employee who helped us change rooms, your politeness was appreciated.

getting to the hotel and checking in was great... service and all. The issue we ran into was breakfast. They only had 1 server for the entire restaurant, and she was extremely vocal about it, and it took her 15 min to even acknowledge us. Adding to my review... please train your staff to allow the guest on the phone to finish their statement, question, or concern before rudely interrupting. This happened 3 times with us.

Good stay overabellman. Queen beds are small for 2 adults. The rooms and views are nice. However, not a lot of room if you have multiple suitcases. Call early for valet or bellmen.
