      Captain D's

      At our Gardendale, AL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D's Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D's Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D's was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

      image This has been my go to restaurant. However one Sunday about two weeks ago, I never got my otder and barely got my money back because the system timed out for a refund. I understand the current situation with a shortage of employees. But after 1.5 hours of waiting on a busy day and I could not get a 4 piece with extra sides. Also I was not offered any compensation, tea, coupon, explanation,, hushpuppies, pie or an apology . Usually the service is okay when my order is right. Just check your to-go-orders.

      image My son and I were in Gardendale and we haven't eaten at Captain D's in quite awhile. The food was excellent. Cooked while we got our seat. The food was so good that we have vowed to go back on a regular basis.
      Parking: Plenty of parking places available.
      Wheelchair accessibility: Handicap parking spaces at the side of the building. Entrance has a ramp from the parking lot to the doors.
