This will be very in depth because I never want anyone to experience what I just did: Cannot attest to the actual quality of the insurance itself, although I have heard the policies are decent, but this whole place is fishy if you're applying for a job with them. This is my own experience and my own perspective on the hiring process. I applied online for a receptionist job and was contacted via phone call very quickly to "meet with the CEO and get more information" via zoom. I thought it was kind of odd that I would first meet the CEO and not the person that called me, or any other sort of hiring manager, but okay, thats fine- its a smaller company and the receptionist is the face of the company when people walk in, so maybe he wanted to meet me personally and had the time and ability to do so due to online interviews. I received a few odd looking emails (none of them addressed me personally and they did not look professional at all, ESPECIALLY for a "reputable" insurance firm) stating that the zoom call was scheduled for today and it gave a link, but the email was from a "do not reply" email address, yet stated the CEO's name, not the person that called me. Another red flag. After doing some research about the company, I became very suspicious about what they actually do, but since I was only aiming for a receptionist job, I figured there wouldn't be a problem since I wouldn't be doing sales. Interview comes, and a very poorly made 2006 looking powerpoint slide is being used to give the information. A man claiming to be Mr. MacDonald appears on camera and uses plural pronouns during his pitch (as if addressing a group of people in a call) but I could not turn on my microphone or my camera, or see if anyone else was in the call with me. Another thing that tipped me off was that he was speaking and giving this long presentation (which was problematic in itself but I'm sure no one cares about the details, let's just say I felt like I was going to be asked to buy a timeshare at the end of it), but his microphone showed that it was muted, and Mr. MacDonald's screen was being shared, meaning that this was a RECORDING. Mind you, anyone who applied for any sort of job would be invited to this call, then apparently you have to take some sort of quiz afterwards. You cannot ask questions or talk to a live person during this "meeting." DO NOT APPLY FOR A POSITION HERE UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR TIME WASTED, they will only try to put you into a sales role (which isn't all that sweet from the reviews I've read from previous employees, but I digress). I very much do NOT appreciate the unprofessionalism displayed by this company and encourage them to stop these shameful practises. There was probably not even a receptionist job available and I am very upset that this company disrespects potential employees by being deceptive and wastes time that I could have put towards interviewing for a position that...exists...instead of getting a sales pitch. In the case that I am somehow completely wrong about all of this, their intentions, or some mistake was made on the part of the company that led to this situation, I would not trust a company that could make a series of mistakes of this magnitude for a simple front desk clerical job.

About
American Income Life: The MacDonald Insurance Group

About Brandon MacDonaldBrandon MacDonald earned an accounting degree from the University of Alabama in 2000, and worked in public and private accounting followed by a foray into restaurant ownership. He joined American Income Life Insurance Company (AIL) in 2010. Since that time, his accomplishments include ranking in the top 12 Master General Agents (MGAs) within his first six months, and promoting three individuals to the prestigious MGA position in 2016.Brandon sought to purchase an existing business when he was contacted by AIL. I wanted to find the right opportunity that would allow me to work with career minded professionals and satisfy my desire to build a business. I always enjoyed team building and helping others be successful, he says. After seeing the growth potential and career path provided by AIL, it seemed to be a perfect fit. He saw the chance to grow a business without having to invest a large amount of money and achieve a greater return without the risk. This is an opportunity to compete and achieve at a level that I'd always aspired to. AIL allows me to set goals and achieve success at levels that sometimes surprise even me.Its obvious that Brandon sincerely believes in AILs mission to provide great benefits for working families. At AIL we are able to provide affordable benefits they might not otherwise have access to. Our representatives embrace the idea that every family they visit should be in a better place after meeting with us. Our products allow families to reduce the negative impact when unexpected or potentially catastrophic events occur in their lives, he adds.Brandons Agency office is also focused on being a positive contributor to the communities in which they live and work through such activities as adopting families in need, volunteering at local soup kitchens and ongoing donations to food banks. He says that by doing their part in a philanthropic role, offering quality affordable benefits to working people, and making professional opportunities available to those who aspire to achieve at a high level, his Agency does all they can to create a positive footprint.Brandon is also passionate about careers with American Income Life for those with a desire to help others. Our representatives earn a great income, work in a positive environment and feel a sense of honor knowing that there is a purpose to their profession, he says. Work ethic and a positive attitude are the two qualities one must possess to be successful at any level with AIL. Brandon says, If you have ever aspired to earn a six-figure income, feel that you are not maximizing your potential in your current role, or dreamed of owning your own business, then you should consider an opportunity with our Company.
