Sometimes I'm frustrated with pies because some bakers thin out the crust too thin, but with Edolyn's I don't have that disappointment. The crust is perfect. The blueberry lemon pie dessert is beyond my favorite flavor. However, if you're a fan  sweet potato pie and pecan pie you will not be disappointed. My fiancé and I buy a rounds of each flavor when stop by. Every pie is a delicious, savory quality. Yes they are "pricey" in comparison to some processed pies made in a food manufacturing facility and sold in a grocery store, but let's not compare apples to oranges. I think the price is on par with the quality: HANDMADE pies made from REAL ingredients sold in a giftable packaging. It is well worth the purchase. It's a true small business bakery gem of Birmingham owned by a lovely and friendly family that everyone needs to try at least once. I promise you'll want to return for more.

Situated in the Pizitz Food Hall, this little pie shop is amazing!  I love pecan pie, but rarely make it, so that was my choice. I was asked, here or to go, fork or spoon and did I want it warm? Warm, of course, was my answer! Wow, was my thought  the second I placed the first bite in my mouth! Warm, creamy and flavored perfectly. The ingredients were very fresh. The crust was nice and flaky. I will have to say this may be the BEST pecan pie I have ever had! Being a Southerner, that's saying a lot! Kudos to Edolyn's for exceeding my expectations, and the service is friendly and professional! If you haven't been here, you are definitely missing out!

LIVE FREE AND PIE HARD! Came into the Pizitz Food Hall today after an interview at the McWane Science Center. I had heard very good things about this food hall and decided it was time for me to check it out for myself. I got some food from other vendors first and then on my way out I noticed this hidden gem. My assumption is that their main store front is in Homewood, but I was not at that location I was at their vendor in this food hall. I got a blueberry lemon chess pie for Courtney and a pecan pie for myself. The man behind the counter told me that there was going to be a little bit of a wait for the pecan as it was still in the oven, but I did not mind waiting at all. I noticed an empty table across from where the vendor stand was and I sat down and waited. He was so appreciative of me waiting and when the pie was done and out of the oven he can over and peronally handed the pie to me and thanked me for waiting. What a gentleman! I love pie, but am very particular on the type of pies that I eat. I am much more of a cake lover over pie, but I am happy that my pie was fresh. Pecan pie is like on of the pies I can eat almost everyday! (No matter the season). If pie is not really your thing, they also have a variety of ice cream flavors to choose from and a small but mighty coffee menu. You are sure to find something to satisfy your sweet tooth. The customer service I encountered here was fantastic. I will for sure be returning here. Hands down! If you have yet to try Edolyn's Pies, it is a must! Take a break and eat a slice!

Hot pies and ice cream...Name a better duo! Deciding which pie I to  was hard!  But then picking the ice cream to top the pie was harder. Luckily Edolyns let's you sample all the ice creams however many times you like. I chose the lemon blueberry chess pie with vanilla blue bell ice cream. It was perfection!  You won't be able to put your spoon down after the first bite.
