Please do not use this service. This is the first bad review I have written in my life. I did not do my homework and see all the prior poor reviews on this company (run by a solo business owner) as he was referred to me by my neighbor. He came to repair a refrigerator and ice maker. I was at work and came home and he told me both were fixed so I paid him $800.00. I left to go back to work and came back to find my ice maker door off. I called and he said he heard a noise after he thought it was fixed and had to order another part. He did not come back and I called and he said his father died. I told him to take his time. He eventually came back and told me he could not fix either appliance and that he would give me a refund. This was at least 2 months ago. I called and he again said he would give me a refund and leave it in my mailbox. Now he will not accept my calls and it goes to voicemail. I called from another number he answered and then hung up when he realized it was me. His business number has been disconnected and his cell number still works. He has a D+ rating on BBB but it should be a F. I later called another service repair shop (a reputable company) and was told they no longer make the part for the ice maker and that this company, that I was scammed by, knew that but acted like he was going to repair it. I now have a non working ice maker and refrigerator and am out $800.00. Do your homework and find a reputable company to fix your appliances and do not be scammed like I was. In July 2020 Josh, the owner of Vulcan Appliance Repair, assured us he would fix our LG refrigerator with a brand new Embraco compressor and a supposed "patented" device developed by his partner that would allow the LG to work with the Embraco compressor, which according to him was way better than the LG compressor. After reading multiple complaints similar to ours on Angie's list, it is obvious that Josh is operating a fraudulent operation and is intentionally taking customer's money without completing the work. Josh comes across as a smart and reliable young man with a lot of knowledge of his work, which is clearly a facade. Also similar to other complaints, Josh used the excuse that a family member was sick (dying of cancer) so he couldn't show up to replace the supposed new compressor that only lasted four days for the next couple of weeks. After three trips over about 5 week period, this went on until he finally stopped responding to any attempts to resolve his incompetence and fraud. This all occurred toward the end of July and he knew we were desperate to have our refrigerator back and took full advantage of our situation. We finally bought a new fridge and are out close to $800 and approximately $200 for the food we lost because of his fraud. I have contacted Josh repeatedly since July via text and email, and finally reached him on the phone after hiding my caller ID, and he acted like he didn't remember doing the work and refused to acknowledge that he ripped us off or offer to make restitution. I even told him he could come to get the fridge and the compressor after he refunds us our money. I also talked to his so-called partner who developed this electronic device. He verified that Josh had purchased some parts from him, but that he was not his partner. Constant attempts to resolve this in a logical fashion have all been ignored by Josh. I fully plan to press charges against him for fraud and take the case to court for collection. Service: Refrigerator repair

This dude is absolutely horrible. It was over a month and he kept giving the same lie. It was always the distributor at fault. I had to send him the model number again after he supposedly got it on the service visit. Me being the customer I shouldn't have to chase this dude for service and being told the same thing over and over. Now I'm out of 75 dollars for nothing. I only used him because he was cheaper. I guess I got what I paid for. So please beware of this dude. I do not recommend vulcan Appliance repair for nothing at all.###very unhappy customer...the parts he couldn't find for a month, I found already.....

The first time, Josh arrived LATE (mind you this was my only off day and I had to wait almost an hr for him to arrive) and WITHOUT a mask (both visits). He fixed the dryer and it worked while he was there. As a birthday gift, my mother paid and arranged to have my dryer repaired. I was elated when Josh fixed my dryer. However, after he left, I washed and DRIED 1 load and the dryer stopped. After SEVERAL attempts to speak to Josh about the dryer stopping (him avoiding ALL calls at first), my mother finally got in touch with him and arranged for him to COME BACK to fix it. He returned the following week, TEMPORARILY FIXED IT AGAIN, tested it AGAIN then left. I washed/DRIED 1 load AGAIN, THE DRYER STOPPED AGAIN!!!! Highly disappointed. My mother is out $220 and I still don't have a dryer!!! Thanks Josh for ruining my birthday gift from my mother but also for taking her money and not fulfilling your obligation. Lastly, He doesn't return phone calls and forget about getting your "ELECTRONIC" receipt from him via email. My advice, tell him to send the receipt via text to your phone while he's standing there. This is about the only way you'll get your receipt from him. PLEASE NOTE: Both VISITS, I never moved the dryer from how HE left it. I was told NOT to use the hose because the vent needed cleaning but that the dryer was fixed and would still work. EPIC FAIL BOTH TIMES! Service: Dryer repair
