My 2 year old came home with bite marks all over him and they didn’t say anything about it. We have been trying to potty train him and was told he would be taken to the potty every few min to help train him. He was left in diapers all day so we said something to the teachers 2 days in a row and still came home with a very full diaper. The last day my kids were there I walked in to pick them up and couldn’t breath it was so hot and both of my kids had their heavy jackets on. There are too many kids for the amount of teachers. I do not recommend sending your children here.

My 2 year old son attends Childcare Network in Alabaster. Typically, we do not face any issues with having him enrolled here, and while we feel as though the course load isn't up to the same standards as his previous daycare, I still feel that having him in a classroom with other children learning a curriculum is beneficial to his development. Recently, I have began to feel as though my son is targeted specifically, on top of already being a child who may be special needs (we are in the process of having him evaluated so we can make the proper next steps) we have discussed the possibility with the director and a few of his teachers and most seem to understand and encourage us to have him receive help if he needs it. However, I feel that my son is being blatantly discriminated against by at least one of his teachers. This teacher has written countless incident reports for my son, and while he is rough and can have a problem hitting, I can only recall 2 ever being written by another teacher, whereas the one has written very many of them. In fact, my 2 year old son was suspended from daycare as the teacher wrote 3 or 4 incident reports within the span of 30 minutes (from 10:15am to 10:45am) To me, this seems unreasonable. Moreover, I believe this teacher is impatient and not nearly as kind of invested as the other teachers, and as a result, I feel it affects my son's behavior. I have watched my son, he mirrors what he sees. If he senses aggression or impatience, then he will react the same way. I believe this is the case with said teacher bc she is extremely impatient with him, although she has asked me on several occasions if I have evaluated him for special needs. It doesn't insult me to ask, but it disappoints me that she think he may be, but then goes on to treat him without considering the possibility he may need more patience and understanding than a normal, non-problematic child. I was shocked to hear he had been suspended, as my husband and I both work and attend classes full time and only have him enrolled in daycare as we have no other choice for him during the day when we are in class or at work. The last time he had several incident reports against him, I was called to pick him up early but was not told he was suspended or that the first instance is a warning. This most recent time though, he was suspended and when questioned bc I was confused, I was told by the assistant director that the first instance was a warning and which would be the second instance would be suspension. I was surprised as it had never been clarified it was just a warning the first time. I then asked for a copy of the parent handbook so I could better understand the disciplinary policies and what constitutes suspension, as I did not recall what the handbook we had at home said, but I was told they didn't have any. I then asked if they had a printable copy of just the policies alone, and was told that was still not possible. I was frustrated and simply left after this. I then went online in an effort to find a resource online to clarify, but found myself out of luck yet again. I attempted to live chat, but was directed towards a hotline number that has yet to answer my calls or callback after any of my messages I've left. My last effort is attempting to set up an appointment with the director to discuss mine and my husband's concerns, as well as possibly filing a formal complaint as I was made aware that timeouts are not used in the facility, rather, redirecting is. We personally have nothing against timeouts, but if it's against policy, then my son should not be put into timeout. Sadly, I have seen my son separated from his peers, in a chair, in an obvious form of timeout and I recall vaguely being told he had been separated prior and maybe even the word "time out" had been used by the teacher. There is far more to write, but I am afraid I have reached the character count for Google Reviews, however, I still fully intend on sharing my son's experience and raising more awareness.
