Got a ticket on big beaver for being on my phone. I had my phone in my hand, wasnt on it at all. I told the officer that and she said we want people to have both hands on the wheel and looking forward(so every person smoking, eating a French fry or anything else Im sure is getting pulled over based on that reasoning). I pull up the ticket today and its an outrageous $210 and $8 service fee (whats up with the service fee, only the government can get away with that). I legit feel scammed. I dont text and drive or talk and drive, I get on people for that. This has put a bad taste in my mouth for the police in this area. This isnt protecting and serving, this is scamming working class people and is predatory. Officer Parra you should be better and actually prevent crimes. I know no one will care at this court or the police department, but this is a scam that will take medication away from my daughter.
