My dad has been a resident for almost 4 1/2 years. He recently went on hospice and needed a hoyer. This facility doesnt allow them and overall has gone drastically downhill. Ive had no communication with them about this. Left messages myself and not getting a call or update or even when he has to move. This is crud. Now I have to put my dad thru the trauma of moving right after the emotional distress going on hospice takes on him.

Up until.. about February 2023, Bayberry was a good place for seniors, healthcare staff, and hospice providers. Residents and families have been top notch. There are some staff who have worked there 10 plus years and are the best in the business with no question. The memory care is and has been one of the best in the state at least up to early 2023. (See my old review). After a company wide takeover by Ridgeline Management in 2022-2023, most operations went south quickly. Following a failed state inspection, Ridgeline replaced all previous management and brought on a woman named Krista Cardoza. Krista threatened her staff, ignored issues with the facility food, and created an unwelcoming atmosphere where many families and health care providers felt ignored. During her takeover, she worked to eliminate about a quarter of the existing staff(some who had worked there for many years), while bringing in her own. She allegedly "lost" entire employee files containing background checks, onboarding/new hire paperwork, CPR cards, and food handler's certificates forcing about 50 percent of the staff to redo these tasks to maintain employment. As a result, the company and residents suffered. Bayberry is due for another state "follow-up" inspection within the next 30 days to correct inconsistencies cited in 2022. I would find it highly unlikely the facility will pass with current marginal staffing levels and limited access to outside agencies to fill the gaps. At one point Bayberry owed Express staffing over 150,000 dollars in unpaid service bills. Some residents were not billed for 4 months and owed up to 20 thousand dollars in back rent. Take a tour for yourself, and decide whether this is the right choice. I would explore other options for now, at least until they get new leadership or the current leadership and owner/s (4 at one point) take better control of the situation because the building has a tremendous amount of potential. Basically, the place needs to pay all its debt off, sell and rebrand to start fresh. With all the debts paid if its even possible, it would be a good place. With a kind administrator and new gentle resident care managers who nurture their hard working staff, Bayberry might reclaim its title as best in the state. Ridgeline managed the building before Seasons Living in 2020 and succeeded at that time. there is no reason they cant do it again with or without possible covid intrusions. Excellent care all around. Each and every single resident recieves the best and absolute possible care to top of the line standards. Residents enjoy themselves socially and also have great activities instructors. If I had to suggest any in home care facility to any family this would be the one.
