After months of treatment, I’d gotten nowhere. I strongly recommend researching your options beforehand and asking her questions about her treatment approach instead of letting her drill you with questions and make assumptions on your first visit. Don’t let the PhD after her last name fool you. She is adept at victim blaming, shaming, and acted judgmental on more times than I can count. She not only violated my trust (I assumed it was a safe environment), but she also violated my privacy on multiple occasions. Do your homework. I was desperate and assumed she’d be able to help. She actually made me feel worse, which is why I’m posting this review. I hope nobody else naively puts their trust into her.

I saw her for a while, but just wasn't getting anywhere. Her focus was more on diagnosing me and encouraging me to go on meds, than helping me with the problems I was having at the time, validating my feelings (or helping me learn how to validate myself). Also, it turns out I'm a victim of Narcissism, something she didn't pick up on. It would have been incredibly helpful so I could begin a long overdue healing process. She knew enough about my background to be able to come to this conclusion IF she had enough experience in dealing with NPD and their victims. I was a real mess when I saw her; I did not start to relax about the events in my life until I found another therapist who understood what I needed and helped put everything into perspective. My level of anxiety is down; I've learned about setting boundaries, gray rock, no contact, and recognizing toxic behavior in others; among other things. Sadly it was with my new therapist and not Dr. Hamlin. I really liked her. But she wasn't much help for me.
