Kumon Math and Reading Center of Silver Spring - North

Last week I attended orientation at the Kumon facility in Fulton, MD (Scaggsville Rd) and left a review on how unwelcome I felt (arrived 15 mins early and wasn't offered to wait in the lobby - told to return later although it had started raining, received hesitant questioning about whether my child was "ready" to start Kumon although she's 3.5 and the program starts at 3, etc). I'm glad I didn't give up on Kumon based on that initial negative encounter. I was able to make a same-day orientation appointment at this location and the owner and staff were very warm and welcoming. The owner brought me into her office to explain the Kumon program and what each level entailed for both math and reading - she even provided a list of recommended books for my child to read at each level. I greatly appreciate the service received and professionalism displayed at this location!

I have two kids that are currently enrolled at Kumon Silver Spring North. My eldest started at 3.5 years old. He is now almost 7. The younger one is currently four years old. Kumon helped both of them, especially my eldest, really excel in school. Because of his early exposure to Kumon, he started reading at an early age. Math is one of his favorite subjects in school as well. I definitely would recommend Kumon Silver Spring North - the team over there led by Jaslin is very helpful and patient. The pandemic has been hard for many kids, but they have been so flexible and accommodating with their schedule. My third kid is currently 2, and soon he will be joining the crew!

I have a Learning difference ADHD which makes things very hard to understand. I attended Kumon from 2012-2017 and I hated it. It takes me a really long time to process information and math is my weak subject. When i struggled with math they didn't help me they told me to do it again. So i did and i still didn't get it. I would be there till 6:00 in tears because i did not understand what i was doing and needed help so my parents would just take me home. They give you work on top of school work and that's really hard for me to do. Sometimes I'd do school work and id get in trouble with Kumon. It was ridiculous. The owner isn't really nice. The only reason why i give it one star is because of the graders. They helped me understand what I was doing
