image I have had vertigo almost every month since I was tboned back in 2019. I have missed out on sooooo much of my life since that day. I have been to probably NO less than 1000 vertigo related appts since the car accident. I have not been able to get rid of this vertigo and my depression has gotten worse and worse over the years. I saw a specialist is BOSTON two weeks ago NO help. Then with the help of the secretary at this office I was seen last week. They have been so friendly and actually give me true hope I can get my life back. The PT I saw she was amazing. She listened and was great!!!! She also released a muscle that's been wreaking havoc and I felt the best I have felt in over a month! I was able to wash my hair (it had been 2+ weeks)(lots and lots of dry shampoo)and did NOT get vertigo after!!!!
THANK YOU ALL!!!!!!!

image This is, I think my 3rd, or 4th, MS doc referred, visit w/care plan setup, including pool time for heavy exercises, cognitive skill practice, and more refined help focused on my gate. All good stuff, and the desire to be able to possibly be able to live my life finally. No more being stuck in a room for another year.

image I was referred to Maine Strong Balance Center with vertigo and Mikaela was my Doctor. I had been on the Tea Cups at Disney and I was constantly dizzy. Mikaela identified the problem and worked with me on correcting the vertigo. She was patient, extremely knowledgeable about vertigo and very personable. My vertigo is gone and I am going to miss seeing Mikaela and the other ladies at the Saco center. Dont suffer with vertigo - go to Maine Strong Balance Center. They are the best

image I have been dealing with dizziness and vertigo for a little over 20 years. I can successfully say for the last month, I have been vertigo free, thanks to the Maine Strong Balance Center!
I had been experience dizzy spells on a daily basis for years. I worked with a number of ENT's and specialists and became exhausted of going through test after test with no results. A specialist in Boston had diagnosed me with an advanced case of BPPV and recommended I begin my work with a PT that specializes in vestublar conditions before exploring other options. Fortunately for me, the Maine Strong Balance Center was all I needed to end my toubles with vertigo.
After my first consult, I was paired with Mikaela as my PT. Mikaela is nothing short of amazing. As a patient in my early 40's with 20+ years of BPPV, I bought with me a lot of fear and uncertainty about working in certain positions that trigger my verigo. Mikaela worked with me with a mix of technology devices to measure my eye movement, as well as a number of physical movements to work through those fears and we showed progress each day. Mikaela is highly skilled and extremely compassionate to me in my condition, and built a plan to finally put an end to my dizzy spells. After only a number of sessions, I was able to graduate from therapy and have yet to recreate the vertigo I was expericing again.
Living with vertigo is no easy task. It kept me from being able to enjoy many things I love to do. Since my work with Mikaela I have been able to get back to doing the things I love to do without the fear of feeling dizzy anymore. I am extremely grateful. So if you are expericing vertigo and dizziness, I highly recommend Mikaela and the Maine Strong Balance Center!

image By far the BEST experience I have EVER had getting assistance with Physical Therapy, ever . and I have had lots of surgeries and opportunities to get PT services and I have had experiences with several different local providers as well as in other states. As a matter of fact, I had just recently finished getting services somewhere because I was not progressing and was trying to find out why.
I had Mikaela as my therapist in the Saco location. I found her to be very professional, knowledgeable and very warm hearted. She made me feel like she really cared and wanted to try to help me find a solution to the issue I had been suffering with for several years now and that was seemingly just getting worse cause balance issues and several broken ankles.
Long story short, I had had surgery over 10 years ago that left me with one leg shorter than the other (11mm). Gradually, over time, I found that I was having more and more difficulty walking. I had been seen by orthopedic professionals and every X-ray seemed to show that the repair parts still appeared to be holding in place. After many attempts to improve my gait and balance I still was having pain and difficulty trying to walk even for very small distances. When I explained the whole story to her, she had taken it to heart trying to find a way to help me. On one occasion, she decided to take some measurements in addition to evaluating and giving me exercises to try to strengthen my leg and hip.
She is the ONLY PROFESSIONAL PERSON who ever even considered doing what she did. What she learned (my leg length discrepancy had changed from 11mm to 30mm!) When she then explained to me how that would effect my ability to walk, go upstairs, etc. it all became very clear! Everything she described was exactly the issues I had been having for the past few YEARS! She helped me by sending a letter with me for the new Orthopedic Doctor I would see regarding this issue. I am now scheduled for a total hip replacement to correct this condition. I can assure you that I would never have been able to come to the conclusion that this would be the best possible solution to this problem and gave me some self respect back knowing that I really could not help myself to get better on my own. PRICELESS!
I will be forever thankful to her attention to detail, her personal knowledge, for the time and the effort she made to help me solve this problem and her kindness to just listen to what I was going through. NO ONE had ever even thought to check the measurements after all these years! The Maine Strong Balance Center is unique in that they consider the neurological aspects as well as muscles and bones which I feel was a more wholistic approach in finding a solution. Personally, I plan on returning for therapy services after my surgery but she also gave me exercises and things that I could do before the surgery that would help. My experience has been nothing short of amazing! I have hope that I will finally be able to walk again normally, God bless you!
.also the facility was large, clean and effective. All the staff were very personable and helpful in my experience. I would highly recommend trying them before any others. you could save a lot of pain and suffering if you did. Thank you so very much.
