Encounter Church is Awesome! They just had a beautiful remodel thanks to the Senior pastors Steven and Portia. I am absolutely Thankful for this bay area church. They have many areas to serve in such as children's ministry, Youth, Wednesday night classes , Media and Leadership. I love their seasonal events like Vacation Bible School, Harvest festival, Easter and harvest plays. It is definitely a loving and inviting church Uniting people with God and People with people. GO LOVE!

I had a very bad experience with this place. I went here for about 7 months last year (2019). There are a lot of personal interactions that should not be mentioned in this comment, but trust me, it wasn't good. I would advise you to truly think before you come to this church. Even if you feel God calling you here. They will kick you out, treat you sideways, and do so much more without even blinking an eye. This church is a perfect example of church hurt/abuse; they are spiritually abusive. If you would like any further information please let me know. P.S. I would have at least appreciated an apology after all this time. But no apology at all has from this church.

This church to me has showed his true colors for Christianity, stand for love only love Gappy love it doesn't matter what the other person has done in their life you're supposed to be a steward you're supposed to be a voice vessel not a judge mental person .  I was brought up in this church as a child and to find out how easily this church fell apart was not surprising to me my kindergarten teacher was a lesbian and she also teach the other kid's there until she was discontinued this is the third or fourth pastor of this church that should tell you a lot.   I chose not to be a member after seeing how people treat each other in this Calais cuticle I felt that I was portrayed as lower totem pole not the ELITE high pyramid that everybody pays every Sunday 10% I was even judged by not paying 10% because I didn't even have a job so I'm just supposed to beg other people in the church to pay 10% to the Pastor.  I saw all the checks that were coming in every month they range from 7000 and up and not once I seen anybody come up with any ideas like I have spoken to other people to help people of hunger people that need shelter people that are without anything but the clothes on their back.   I was even told why do you want to do this Get food to these homeless people that were outside the church on Tuesday nights prayer I went to the food pantry and I gotten canned foods that they have stacked hundreds and hundreds of Can fruits and vegetables. And all I was told is that look at them they smoke cigarettes how about all the hypocrites that I see outside that have smoke cigarettes and don't even put them in the trash they just thrown all over the place many times I took it upon myself to sweep the grounds of that church that I don't ever want to step on the grounds ever again in my life that should tell you a lot physically emotionally mentally disgusts me how this place has turned into I was once approached by the pastor that told me that I could help someone out at the Craneway Richmond I was there for their Fourth of July music symphony but after that he told me not to come anymore he unemployed me and I did nothing wrong I showed up an hour before anybody was there so that shows you the devotion that I wanted that job .  I even was approached to help church rototill The front yard with now there is a garden you can thank me for rototilling that all for you for free I do remember being paid to pressure wash the whole premises but it's very discouraging to know that other people helped each other to employ each other and I was the unemployed and I was looked down upon.  My belongings my property was in the hands of these people then it was stolen or sold I was nice enough to allow them to borrow things from me to celebrate Halloween what church celebrates Pagan Halloween Satan's day. I was very discouraged to every time that I came up with a great idea for people to have a place to come to get a bag of  food or a place that they can ask for help they were always turned away but not for me I gave them what I had it could've been five dollars could've been $20  could've been what I just bought him from In-N-Out Burger or FoodMaxx but I didn't ask for anything back  I didn't want anybody to know what I did that's a true Christian it's unbelievable that now I look past all of that and how much that I was in a lie and being deceived of the human that I am that God gave me this gift to see into peoples hearts and souls and minds of how physically disgusting it is to be around people like this it's like a foul smell that never will go away .  I'm in a relationship and these people pastors try to discourage me of being with the person that I am with by degrading them how are they any better than anybody else on the face of the earth you really have to look at yourself in the mirror into understand you are privilege to be where you are and can easily be taken away fast and swiftly .
