Central Drug Store

Independently owned drug stores are becoming increasingly rare and even in large cities they are becoming few and far between. Central Drug store is such a place and it has been a San Francisco institution for decades, serving locals and the neighborhood with reliable and personal service. They have customers that stems back for decades, relying on their home delivery services for their medication. It's also a place where you can buy gift merchandises and your support can go a long way in keeping these folks in business as they struggle to compete with national chain stores.

Such a great pharmacy! Did alot of shopping there. Loved the worker's Used to live across the street.

I moved to Central Drug after a certain national chain turned its back on many SF neighborhoods. So far my experience has been great. Such a charming little store and a very friendly staff. Central Drug lacks the bells and whistles of a big box (no app or auto refill) and the hours are limited (I do wish they added Saturday hours). However, the service has been great so far. If the location and schedule works for you, I recommend giving your money to a nice mom and pop like Central Drug.Note: contrary to another review posted in the early pandemic era, I find they do reliably answer their phones these days.

The drug specialist of this pharmacy should be valued for persistently obliging every one of the clients. I was flabbergasted by her work disposition. She was truly receptive in spite of having heaps of clients. She actually figured out how to oblige every one of the necessities of the clients. Great job!
