Always a blast to come down and nerd out at the museum. Me and my Girlfriend came in yesterday smack dab in the middle of the eclipse. A Wonderful security guard, I do not remember his name, took time out of his day to hand us eclipse glasses, educate us on some the factoids af the eclipse, and even helped us capture the perfect eclipse shots on our phones. Later on, we bumped into him again, and he guided us once again, thru the museum, all the way to the exhibit we were looking for while educating us on some of the museums history along the way. Sir, I do not remember your name, but you absolutely need a raise and a picture somewhere in the museum halls. Best experience I've had there yet! Thanks for being so courteous and fun.

I have come to the museum with my friends and family multiple times, and we always enjoy it. There is an excellent maritime exhibition, and they have a great repertoire of Asian art. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Salem, Massachusetts.

Bank if America members get in free on the first weekend if each month. Plenty to see in rotating exhibits.

The Museum itself is very good. 4 stars are for the difficulty in "wayfinding". Looking specifically for "Our Planet Earth" exhibit and had to do a bit of wandering around to find it (deadends, wrong halls). Even picked up a couple of equally lost souls as well. However, once we found the exhibit it was excellent, presenting Earth's resources from an Indigenous perspective. Completely different from the usual Western viewpoints. Well worth seeing. We most certainly will go back to explore the rest of the Museum. Chinese house and Asian art are on our list. Additionally, the Staff and Security people were very friendly and helpful, especially when our 6 years old grandchild lost his jacket. Efficient lost and found and we had it back pronto. Great oasis in the middle of the Salem tourist hurley-burley.
