Calvary Cemetery & Mausoleum has long history. I am Catholic and all of my family is buried there and I will be too. It's exciting see all the good reviews about it. For the bad reviews, I'm very disappointed. You say it's in the hood. You have to understand and remember the area before there was a hood there. If you don't like it have your family members exhumed and relocated. Bet you don't have the money to do so. Your not respecting your loved ones. I'm sure Mr. Dred Scott is comfortable there like I will be when the time comes to rest next to my mother and grandmother and family members.

This cemetery has ornate metal signs posted everywhere, overhanging the curb. If you pull over to let another car pass, as I did, you can very easily end up with a deep scrape on your car, as I did. Totally unnecessary and should be replaced with round signs slightly set back from the road, like Bellefontaine. A 5 minute visit to the Garden of Innocents costs me $500+ in auto body repair.

Unfortunately, we didn't even have a chance to visit our Grandmother's grave because 3 suspicious cars were speeding through when we arrived. 2 of the cars circled back and got behind us. We came to a fork in the road and I could see the 3rd car waiting up the hill to the right, so I made a left and exited the Cemetery. The thugs in the cars behind us could be seen hand gesturing to the car ahead after we made that left turn, a turn that potentially saved our lives. This area of St. Louis is drug-infested and crime-ridden. Please be alert and safe if you visit. Call the Cemetery and find out best/safest times to visit.

My father just passed away and I called Calvary Cemetery to find out about getting a plaque placed next to his parents, who are memorialized there on, or near, the grave of my great grandfather. The person I spoke with told me that I had to prove I was a direct descendant of the person who held the account for the family plot. He gave me her name, but I have never heard of her before. I mentioned that if my great grandfather and both my grand parents are either buried or memorialized there, how could I not be a direct descendant of the person whom he claimed held the family plots? Well, It turns out she is my great, great grandmother. So, I need to contact her to get permission. Does anyone know of a good app to communicate with those existing in the great beyond? As I've been taking care of the odds and ends of my father's passing, I've been greeting with nothing but empathy from people at organizations I've contacted with this one exception. I suppose the man who I talked with could have been having a bad day although, I don't see how it can be worse than the past few days I've had. My advice to people who run Calvary Cemetery is to at least act like you care. It seems like that's your business. And the guy who I spoke to was very, very bad at his job.

About
Calvary Cemetery & Mausoleum

Calvary Cemetery & Mausoleum is designed to create services that promote healing, forgiveness, thanksgiving, and remembering. They fulfill the Gospel call to bury the dead. For over 160 years, the memorial planning team has helped to serve as a bridge to the communion of saints. The peaceful, sacred, and pastoral setting will serve as the perfect place for the funeral and burial events of your loved one. The dedicated team will advise you on the perfect memorials to choose that fit the personality of the deceased. The groundskeepers are meticulous about keeping the property trimmed and presentable. Each member of the staff is at your back to help you feel stress-free and informed through every step of the planning process.

Calvary Cemetery & Mausoleum is a Catholic cemetery that provides several options for burial. Make permanent memorialization decision that will represent your loved one for generations to come, including monuments and memorials. Choose burial plots for the whole family through pre-need services so you can reserve burial spaces near your favorite landmark in the graveyard. The planning team will help arrange a graveside service or committal service at the time of burial. Your friends and family seek closure, and this cemetery service can help them achieve that feeling. If your loved one qualifies for veteran services or military honors, let the cemetery professionals make appropriate arrangements for the burial.

You may think that ground burial is the only option. Think again! A mausoleum, crypt niche for cremated remains, and columbarium burial are all available. You can choose private family estates to start a family tradition of burying your loved one in a private space within the cemetery. Choose grave markers that are important to your family, whether it be a lawn-level marker, granite marker, flat marker, or upright memorial.

Calvary Cemetery & Mausoleum can assist families from Saint Louis City, Saint Louis County, Affton, Saint Charles, Lake Saint Louis, Dardenne Prairie, Wentzville, Saint Peters, Wildwood, Ballwin, and Ellisville. Whether you want to start on pre-need burial arrangements or have an at-need burial request, the caring team will be on standby, waiting to help.

Calvary Cemetery & Mausoleum is located on a beautiful plot of land at 5239 W Florissant Ave Saint Louis, MO 63115. Be sure to call the team to chat about all of the cemetery options available to your family: (314) 792-7738.
