I love Grumpy's peanut butter cup ice cream. During the summer, this little hidden spot offers Peterson's ice cream. The rich chocolate ice cream base is complimented mini peanut butter cups. The balance of both leaves the ice cream with a rich but not overpowering finish. Nearby is the Riverside nature area and Des Plaines river. There are some places to meander around and check of the water flowing over the dams. Sometimes people sneak off and fish. I went with a date here and the solitude, ice cream, and wild scenery provides an environment for conversation.
