I am posting a review of a job done by Floyds Tree Service to fix damage done by Hurricane Irma last year. By the time you are done reading this, I think you will be able to determine that you SHOULD NOT use Floyd’s Tree Service for tree removal.
Mr. Floyd or his representative came out and initiated an estimate which he later sent by email. It was for $500. At the time of his estimate visit, I told him, that for the work on the Southern Magnolia tree limbs, that I thought a bucket truck would be needed. What I did not know was that, Floyd’s would be sending me what amounted to a subcontractor or “partner” who did not show up with the proper equipment (no bucket truck), but assured me they could handle the job. Most of what follows I sent to Mr. Floyd shortly after the job near the end of September. Not long after I informed Mr. Floyd how poor a job the subcontractor did, I got a call from the subcontractor boss and asked if he could come out and talk with me. I said, “There is no need to talk unless you can fix the problems you created.” And that ended that conversation.
The job had two parts: 1) cut up a fallen pecan tree and 2) Remove large broken limbs from an 80 year old Southern Magnolia that was still standing and alive. The first part was not problematic. But in the course of doing the second part, the subcontractor or partner not only butchered the magnolia but destroyed a 20 foot section my 80 year old iron pipe and stone pillar fence. Their main tool besides a tractor-like vehicle was ropes. In an effort to remove about 4 damaged limbs, they destroyed twice as many other limbs – some two feet in diameter.
Besides leaving me with a butchered tree with dangling dead limbs, it cost me nearly $200.00 to repair my fence. I was not going to prepare this review but even nine months later, I am still dealing with the damage done by Floyd’s Tree Service’s partner. This past week a storm finished breaking off one of the limbs left hanging by the tree service and it has lodged on a living branch above the repaired fence.
This week, in an Email, I asked Mr. Floyd to come and remove the limb before it destroyed my fence again. Despite giving him 3 days to respond, I have not heard back from Floyd’s Tree Service. Keep in mind that the fence was initially damaged, not by the storm, but by the incompetence of the tree service. Moreover, they did not properly maintain their equipment because it leaked fuel in my yard in two spots especially when the vehicle set here for more than two nights.
I could mention a lot more other details as they were here for more than one day, but the main thing to remember is that Floyd’s Tree Service does not stand behind their work nor that of their partner/subcontractor. If they did, I would not be writing this review of their substandard work.

Awesome experience! I was a new homeowner in the Georgia area and needed trees removed. Cold called them and they were so professional, fair in their price and time frames, completion and clean up.
