If you are looking for a more relaxed and enjoyable Dental experience, I can't recommend Dr. Kirk E. King enough. From the moment I enter the office I have an enjoyable time, both with the entire staff. Everyone has a fantastic demeanor and sense of humor. You feel relaxed and amongst friends while you are there. And Dr. King has a fantastic sense of humor to go with his Dentistry work. I keep telling him he is moving up the scale one click with each visit. (Shhhh .... He's kind of already near the top, but don't tell him... ). Again, if you are looking for a great Dentist with a wonderful staff, go. No really .... right now ... GO.

I certainly waited my time to "adult" and find a dentist on my own. After a veeeery long break I found Dr. King who was highly recommended by a good friend and justifiably so! Dr. King and his team have been so welcoming and no judgement whatsoever for having waited that long to find a dentist on my own. They were great about getting me in as a new patient and setting up appointments was a breeze. The entire staff is friendly and professional. Definitely glad I took the leap and found them.

PETRIFIED of DENTISTS
I was referred to Dr. King by a colleague. Before I went, I did my research and saw the reviews and thought "give him a try". First, I am really phobic and uncomfortable with dentists. It's a trust and drill issue. I am white knuckled, sometimes tears well up, I might sweat - it's a 'thing' for me.
At my first appointment, I explained my craziness to my first contact, Barb, the dental assistant. She is fabulous! What I noticed was she was very motherly, nurturing, grounded, and welcoming. You just feel your in good hands with her. There was no judgement. She was authentically there to help you in whatever way you needed her to. She's has a 'safe zone' aura to her. You can't help but feel it. While talking with her, I noticed the atmosphere. It felt calm, welcoming, and really peaceful. When I met Dr. King, he was gentle and laid-back with his demeanor. Confident, but quite friendly. I explained my strange phobia and he did not give one vibe of offense taken with my needs and was completely receptive to all of it.
My second appointment was today and today was the day the drill had to get used to fill my cavity. Oddly, I'm okay with shots. They aren't a party, but I can handle them. I have NEVER in my life had a shot in my mouth that I never knew happened. Because I have fast metabolism and my fear of drills, he used two full vials of novocaine to ensure I stayed numb and to make I knew I would stay numb. He has this injection delivery method and where he slowly does it with all the patience in the world. I literally never felt ANYTHING other than him kinda massaging my cheek/gum to either distract me or to ease the muscles. Whatever it was, today, there was no stick, there was no pressure, there was no burn, there was nothing. Not all shots are equal depending on where in your mouth they have to go, but I have always felt a shot. Come on. Today was like magic or something.
Barb offered me a blanket before we started today and I thought it was in case I was cold. I told her I would be okay. She then asked if I wanted one just for comfort or for something to hold onto while Dr. King used the drill. ???? !!!!!!!! Not in my life have I ever been to a dentist who gave any kind of thought of this level to calming their patients so they aren't traumatized or uncomfortable.
I certainly have never had any of my dentists offer me the options of letting them know if I need to stop to 'collect myself' or just need a break, restroom, reposition to get comfortable. It has always been, they are in control and I lay there and just deal with it and grit through it, like it or not. Completely different experience here! I cannot say this enough. I am just MIND BLOWN. I look forward to meeting the rest of their team in the future and hopefully, maybe manage to let go of this fear.
Hands down, the best experience I have ever had in a dentist office. I would drive two hours without a thought if that is what it took to ensure my dental care was handled like this each time.
This was long-winded, but I wanted to add my story to merit me saying, "GO HERE!"

I was sure that I had a cavity that was inching towards a root canal. (Having had five root canals, I knew I wanted to avoid that pain. LOL) Dr. King and his staff got me in quickly, even though I was a new patient. Dr. King was very thorough and was quickly able to ascertain that the real problem was a gum problem that was showing some exposed bone, that was causing the pain. He told me who to see, and told me what to say so that I could get in for an immediate appointment with them. Dr. King was wonderful.
