I can't say enough positive things about this firm and Attorney Jacqueline L. Alarcón. She helped with a divorce and negotiated the best possible agreement given the situation. She stepped in again years later when new issues arose and was equally responsive and professional. She is a great listener, compassionate and assertive when needed. She communicates timely and completely and takes the time to explain the pros and cons of different options and decisions. If you are looking for a family law attorney who will have your back and you can trust I have no reservations in recommending this firm and Jacqueline.

I see somehow Michel had my review taken down. I will try to make this brief. I’m using a moniker to be protected, as I believe Michael Yates is criminally in bed with the Washington County courts, and others most likely. I used Michael Yates for a very simple matter where I had provided all of the documentation needed to win the case. He ended up charging me $9000 instead of the $3000 quoted. He also had asked me to pay a transcriber, when I called to pay the transcriber they told me that Michael needed to pay them. Essentially what happened is Michael was so abusive and condescending via phone email and otherwise on at least two maybe three occasions that I had to fire him. I sued and I won but Michael was upset at this point and I believe ushered my exes attorney into vacating the orders from the judge. Essentially making them void. So basically I paid for absolutely nothing. Later I was given a huge bill for work that was not done and turned into collections. I called the debt collector to say that I was disputing the debt and did not hear back. Seems pretty suspicious to me. Also some other things that are suspicious if you really research the Yates family name, you can find Google photos of people that looks so much like Michael yates. One being a serial killer from eastern Washington, and then a wife who is married into the ace family who drowned her own children. You’ll also notice that many of the yates work in law. Honestly I believe that Michael Yates is considered one of the best child custody attorneys in the state because he knows the crooked judges and more than likely pays bribes to them. Judges like Charles Bailey or district attorney‘s like John foot. Not saying, I have any specific proof but it’s no secret to how all of this works. I would like to see if it’s my personal crusade of my entire life I want to take down crooked scum bags like this at their own game. They exploit desperate families that are heart longing for their children or for their freedom. The system is so completely rigged it only really matters how much money you throw out. And by Michael’s abusive atrocious behavior that I witnessed it makes it all that much more clear. The reality is the powers that be are losing their grip in this country and world is headed into much unrest. I’m pretty sure guys like these are going to be the first on everyone’s list. I know the first thing I will do if given the chance is eat the Rich quite literally. Oh and one last thing you will notice two positive reviews one with no photograph. And the other one is under the name L Johnson. I’d say they both are quite fake. How is it possible that nobody has use this guy and reviewed him positively ever?

My experience was very similar with that of another review regarding Michael Yates. I hired Michael Yates on an international custody case that involved a non-Hague member country, Vietnam. I spent a lot of money (which was expected I guess) -- over $60,000. I will agree with the other reviewer that Mr. Yates has a very bad bedside manner. His emails to me and phone calls were abusive in his language use, as if I was not his client. He made me very nervous in our interactions. In my case, he did not have the experience to create a strategy regarding my international custody case and ignored my many worries about my ex not complying. Now my ex is now non-compliant. I had to discontinue the use of Michael Yates because he wasn't one to research on what could be done and when I told him in a short email to stop work, I was billed for about $160. I should had emailed his assistants and be billed at a lower hourly rate for the one paragraph email. I was quite surprised. Update: I requested a refund of the $160 to stop working for me. They agreed to refund me $80. So I guess now I spent over $60,000 minus $80. Meanwhile, I have a Judgement that cannot be enforced in Vietnam and I am unable to see my children. His staff is excellent. I will say that. Very nice and efficient.

I have been forced to update my review. Although I really like his staff, be aware if you ever make Michel Yates angry you are going to get abusive letters from him even though you are the one paying him. I will upload a screenshot to Google photos. He has been so abusive on at least two occasions that I had to fire him today. We even had to inform him of two mistakes that would most likely have had our case thrown out. I believe we were only refunded the labor on one of these "corrections". I do believe Michael wins often, probably by only taking cases that are easy and the documentation is already provided by the client. My ex has stalked me extensively for years, destroying my old pickup, causing my relationships to the wither. Harassing co workers family members, friends and my lover. I truly believe now that I took her to court in the matter of our child, that mine and my partners lives are in danger. As she comes from a rough crowd and will do anything to get the last laugh. After our win in court it is clear that the situation is intensifying. Finally I emailed the district of attorney. Four years of relentlessly trying to destroy me was enough. I copied her lawyer and mine just keeping every one in the loop. Still can't see how it could be morally wrong? Maybe the outfit would rather charge me to forward the email through them at $425 an hour? Seems silly as you can easily find the email address listed. I figured it was only fair, as I will have to get another person to pick my daughter up when I see her and contact should be prohibited. As you can see in the letter I posted Michael was immediately dismissive. We had brought it up before. I believe Michael is so sexist. That being female he doesn't believe she can be a real danger to us. Untrue! We will take precautions into our own hands. And yes I do know the difference between, civil, criminal, and family law. How come two of the three good reviews here look fake🤥🕵️‍♂️? Beware your going to get a huge bill with this firm and do most of your own work, and anytime you inform them of relevant development you will be scolded for knowing what's going on first.

My soon to be husband and I hired Michael Yates. Because I was not a named party he treated me terribly. My significant other was on a very dangerous high risk job site, He gave Michael and his staff power of attorney to speak with me instead of calling him. If we provided him every bit of information to win in court, and then he lost it all and his office blew up his phone 2 days before court, Almost causing him to give a life threatening accident. We have a very unique situation. My significant others ex is extremely jealous. She went as far as to commit purgery and falsify several documents. Although we did win in court we feel it was more due to what we provided than Michael's skill. There is a lot of credible reason for us to believe that the ex would try to Cause one or both of us to be harmed. Michael brushed this off. Shame on him. Also quoted us $3000 to get the simple matter resolved And then charged us nearly 3 times as much even though the other party didn't even file anything additional. He hired transcribers That were extremely expensive in comparison to industry standard. He then told us we needed to pay them but we have no contract to do so. We inquired with them to pay them. And they told us we needed to pay him. Felt like a scam. Beware!
