Rough experience. Smells old. Hot water in bathroom inconsistent. Blood on our quilt when we arrived. Room hasnt been maintained very well as the pictures from the website are super outdated. Decor and furniture in the room dusty and broken. No coffee pot in room which sucked. We were here with a sold out wedding event and felt like we were crashing someones wedding. Reservations at Rosevelts were canceled due to wedding and we werent notified. The lady at the front desk with the dreads is the only reason this place gets any acknowledgment for a nice time. She was the only comfort we found here and she is amazing. History is cool in this place.but it smells like history. Needs a solid revamp. After reading some of the other reviews we decided to just make the best of it and not try and mess with talking to management as they dont seem super willing to go above and beyond for repeat guests. NOT a $250 a night experience. Shower curtain in our room was legit from dollar tree with super cheap hooks. Not at all like the pictures on the website. Details matter and this place lets stuff slide. Stay at a name brand hotel and drive to the beach. NOT WORTH THE MONEY. Walk through the lobby, see the history, and buy some swag.maybe snag a post card but dont stay here.

Wonderful, service-hearted staff from the hotel to the restaurant. Jen at the front desk gave us a tour without hesitation so we could see more of the rooms. Really recommend the FDR suite for 2+ day stays. Great food! Beautiful rooms, and in great shape for the buildings age and for being in a beach town. You can tell the management and staff really care about the maintenance of everything. Food & drinks: Roosevelts was so good, and the photos on Google dont do it justice. Wish Id remembered to take photos, but its more of a cozy, rustic fine dining restaurant than as casual as it appeared to us on the photos. But the bar, 1886 next door, offers a limited version of Roosevelts menu, a more casual atmosphere and great drinks.

Very historic place to visit and stay. Come see the wall display of tarpon scales and old pictures. There is a tarpon scale signed by Theodore Roosevelt (26th U.S. President), from when he visited and stayed at the Tarpon Inn. The lobby is open to the public visitation. Rooms: The rooms are cozy and nice. Nearby activities: The fishing and marina are just across the street, so you can easily get on a day fishing trip. Walkability: Central location that is walkable to all parts of Port Aransas. There is local city bus that can also help you get around town for $0.25 a trip. Food & drinks: Location is great, near local restaurants, and bars. Noteworthy details: Ok now here is a fun fact. The Tarpon Inn has a few ghost. If you are up for the experience, the clerks at the front desk will talk with you about them, and if available they can book you into one of there haunted rooms. Now not everybody has an ghost visit, but there is a great chance to have one.
