I had them install a screen over the top of my chimney less than two years ago. Today, I heard some kind of animal in the chimney, so I called them to come back.Their guy was here less than 15 minutes and spent most of that on his phone. He quoted me $315 to fix the screen and add more, but said he didn't have the materials today and would have to come back. I said that was fine. Then he said that the call today, which accomplished nothing, would be $81! He didn't do anything - he didn't even have the ladders he needed to get up there, he just stood on the ground looking up at it the whole time! I said forget it and paid him that and said I'd call someone else.They obviously don't care about their customers or their work. Avoid Top Hat Chimney Sweeps!

My gas fireplace is not working and I had Top Hat come in to take care of the issue. Their technician reported that the fireplace is in good condition but a part needs to be replaced. The company that manufactures this fireplace (Martin) is out of business and the parts are not readily available, but they didn't make much effort to locate this part.They recommended that I replace the entire fireplace instead of just the small part. I know others have had parts replaced on these fireplaces. It seems once they got paid, they didn't bother to put in additional effort. They charged me for an inspection but did not take care of the issue. Even though the owner responded to my initial posting that they would look out for the part, I haven't heard from them after that. Looks like they are out to make a quick buck rather than take care of the issue professionally.

Ernesto came and was fabulous at his thorough evaluation and explanation of the issues related to lightening damage. Have had others come but they were not able to assess properly. Ernestos ability to see the scope of the damage and recommend solutions was such a wonderful service. Thank you!
