Dr. Avakian is wonderful!  He's always concerned with the condition of my feet and has gone above other DPM's I've seen with curing an abscess on my toe and helping me obtain diabetic shoes, x-rays, and surgery for my feet.  He is very proactive in my foot care and lets me know if there is anything I can do to maintain foot health.  He and his staff are very kind and helpful.  I'm always greeted when I walk in and his staff work hard to give me appointments that work for me.  I'm so happy to have him as my doctor.  Thank you Dr, Avakian for caring so much!

Dr Avakian has been fantastic. He is very responsive to his patients needs, flexible when necessary in schedule and thoughtful. I wish all doctors were this way. Do not be discouraged by the front office. If you feel like you're not getting anywhere, ask to talk with him. He's great.

Michael, you are one of the nicest Doctors and podiatrists I've had the luck to see.  (But I'm very unhappy with the service I've received from your office staff but I don't give bad reviews as it can have unfair financial repercussions)One of the office staff at your office, Esther, was quite unhelpful and I'm not sure why.  Your office called me 2 weeks ago to pickup the trial orthotics--paid for 2 months ago and returned last month to be altered as they were coming apart.  The message said to come by anytime the office is open.  On Tuesday at 4:45p I called Esther on my way to the office after leaving the office.  At first, she was helpful and asked for my name and DOB to locate my record.  Once she found it, she noted that I was there to pick up my orthotics. So far so good!  After several minutes she returned to the phone and informed me that no on was still in the office and so she couldn't locate where my orthotics were stored.  In that window, I had already arrived to your office, so I went inside and heard one of the other podiatrists in your office finishing with a patient.  After a few moments, Esther appeared.  She said the other Doctor wouldn't know where they stored my orthotics, so I asked if she'd asked the Doctor, and she said 'No'.  I said I would be happy to wait for the Doctor to finish and ask, as "perhaps my orthotics are sitting in a bag with all the other orthotics and have my name on it." Seemed reasonable since the problem was that Esther didn't know where orthotics were stored!  But Esther then said that even if the Doctor located my orthotics, Esther wouldn't give them to me because she wasn't sure I was actually the patient.  I offered my Driver's license and the voicemail from your office saying I could "pick them up anytime the office was open." Note: this is all happening on a Tuesday during your offices business hours. It's not so much that Esther refused to look for the orthotics, it's that she keeps changing the reason.  Is it because she can't get into that side of the office, yes, then no.  Is it because there is no one to ask where they are?  Yes, but then no.  Is it because she can't be certain I'm not an impostor patient stealing orthotics?  Yes, but then no.I've paid for them in November, received them in December, brought them back in January and it took about 6 weeks to get them repaired/fixed.On the way out of the office, Esther said   that the office was now closed and should have been locked or it was locked and I got in somehow, and that's why the orthotics can't be picked up.  But when I reminded her that the door was not only unlocked but was wide open, and that there was another Doctor and Patient/s in the office, she just said "Well I'm not going to say anything then because you're not happy with the answer."Next time, I think if the office is closing early, just say that when someone calls and they ask "Hey is the office still open." And maybe, if a patient has come to the office because you said it was open, perhaps a bit more willingness to try and solve a rather simple issue.  The combination of the poor quality of the Orthotic (it fell apart in about 3 weeks of infrequent use and I'm not a marathon runner or anything) and the difficulty today makes me realize I should have just skipped the Orthotic purchase.  I'm just going to go back to the old ones I have had for 10 years or so.  They might not be as good as the new technology but they seem to be much better made. However, my experience with you all 3 visits as a Doctor was EXCELLENT and I really appreciate the stretches you suggested for my calf to alleviate the foot problems.  I'll definitely come to see you again if I have foot pain.
