My son has been taking lessons here for years at the south Overland Park location. He says Alla (his teacher) is one of, if not, the best violin teacher he has had. “ I can feel and hear myself improving every day. She is patient, kind, and thorough. She challenges me fairly and I know I can overcome the challenges. She lets me play music that I like, but she also finds outstanding pieces that fit my skill level. Her lessons are are personalized to me and I can tell she is really passionate about teaching.”

The Director Mr. Smith is one of the most disrespectful people I have come across in along time!!!!!!!!!! Myself, my children and the other 2 families walked out after the second class due to watching him disrespect the parents and the 6 year old children participating in the class! This man has no business teaching anyone let alone children!!!!!!!! DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILDREN HERE!!!!

Kansas City School of Music is an amazing school for children of all ages. Our kids have been taking piano, voice, violin, and cello lessons at this school for 9 years. Not only are the teachers highly qualified, they are extremely talented and inspirational. They have taught our kids much more than music. The disciplined structure at this school, along with numerous performance opportunities has allowed our children to develop a love for music itself! We highly recommend this school for all skill levels!
