I've used SOS for a number of years for maintenance on my old unit and they were great to work with. Very professional and honest in their assessments. When it came time to replace my entire HVAC unit I spoke with them on the situation, they provided me a number of options based not only on price but also outlining the benefits and energy saving related items associated with them. When the installation took place they arrived promptly, were efficient and the installers were a pleasure to have in my residence. SOS was recommended by someone I know. I tried them out after my AC stopped working. My AC was low on freon and needed more to run. Low freon can cause the coils to freeze which is what was happening to my AC unit. My experience with SOS was ok. I set up an appointment and they were prompt and came within an hour of calling them. The down side with going with this company though is that they charge top price for freon. I found online after they had added freon that the wholesale price is anywhere from $20 to $50 dollars per pound. They sell it for $150 a pound. I did find out that there are other places that sell it for as low as $90 dollars from my neighbor. The guy who added freon put 3lbs in my AC. I spent $450 on freon plus labor costs which set me at just over $600. I can't personally recommend this company, but I will say they did fix the problem and were prompt. The service guy was very polite and answered a lot of questions I had. If you think you may have low levels of freon in your AC; I'd recommend calling around first and try to find a lower price.
