We had made a reservation a month in advance to be sure everything would be ready. Went to the facility twice to check. First time the employee was just sitting in the customer area and decided to help after about 5 minutes. Could not give us a definite answer. Second time Syndee tried to help. Called the day before and was told we could drive to Ft. Myers ( over an hour away) to pick it up. Luckily we made a reservation a week before with UHaul because we knew this would happen. Budget needs to get their act together.

Absolutely awful rental experience that started May 31. The truck I was given (and told had just been inspected) had to be towed! The service engine light came on, front tire was bad, and the cargo box leaked (which damaged or destroyed many of my belongings). The service technician dispatched to check the truck said "it never should have been rented," and pointed out the poor caulk job on the cargo box, 'cupped' front tire, bad catalytic converter, and more.
Fleetnet, the company contracted by Budget to handle the breakdown was rude and tried to leave me stranded in Michigan.
I now have two claims in process with Budget - one for a refund of the rental truck itself, and one for the contents that were damaged or destroyed. Budget Truck has been playing games for two months regarding the truck rental. The third party handling the contents claim, Sedgwick, has been no better.
The experience has been horrible. Do not use Budget Rental Trucks.
