Worse experience I have ever had at a restaurant. Me and a few other couples waited to be seated. After 15 min we was finally acknowledged . Once the front was filled with about 12 people waiting to be seated we was told they was understaffed. I can understand that but it was several tables that we could of been seated at instead of just standing at the door. Once seated it took another 10 min to order our food and another 40 to get the food. Horrible experience and would never return. Only reason they received one star is because it was no option to leave no stars.

I order the same thing EVERY TIME ever since I had it the first time. CATFISH AND GRITS 😍😍. its crispy, buttery flavor and perfectly fried fish. The grits portion could be slightly bigger, but overall hands down one of the best hidden gems in newport news. A literal neighborhood staple that everyone should visit if close by. Ive tried many dishes in the past that were also excellent but that was years ago and I can't seem to order anything different than the catfish now. THAT'S HOW GOOD IT IS! this place is in my top five places to eat.

I use to come to this place since I was in the military back in the early 80's and this wad the worse customer service I received. It wasn't even pack. I sat at the table and the waitress never showed up. They leaving idk who have me coffee but that's all I received. I went to play for it and the hostess/cashier is free after she asked me how was the service. Where's Ben!!!!
