Salchow and Sons *really* know bows!!! I've been getting my gamba bows rehaired and repaired here off and on since about 1985, and I'm back! The founder's grandson is in charge now, and I'm confident that he and his staff will do the absolutely best job possible with whatever i bring them!

Had my bow re-cambered with Isaac and it plays better than ever before. Articulation and projection are so much better after he worked on it.

In my opinion this is the best rehair in New York. They always do a good job and the turnaround is relatively fast.

Huge fan of Salchow & Sons! I just got my bow re-cambered, and they made it perfectly balanced and smoothed out. In the past with other bow shops, I wasn’t necessarily given a consultation or personal attention to the problems I am dealing with. But Salchows made sure to see and hear the problem by trying out the bow on the violin, listen to my personal issues that I’m dealing with, and fix the problem with 100% of my satisfaction. I really appreciated that they made sure that I carve out extra time to play on it before leaving the shop. They were willing to work on it if I wasn’t perfectly happy. The bow in fact didn’t need any extra work after trying it out.
There is no other shop in NYC that meets their level of professionalism, both in their skills with years of experience, as well their attention to the customers’ needs.
